Feel a bit sorry for May to be honest.

The initial promises Brexit was built on are decidedly unobtainable and were never realistic- and those that said they were in the first place are the ones jumping ship. Maybe her deal doesn't look like what was promised, but it never was going to be. Not sure what actual deal would look acceptable to them really

There is a delicious irony in the fact that a border we stuck in the middle of Ireland a century ago, against the wishes of the vast majority of Irish people who had voted for Independence candidates in the GE of 1918, has come back to bite us on the ass so spectacularly

Is it not the EU’s fault for having weaponised the issue ?

Her entire premiership has been about slithering to self preservation, I get what you're saying but I've nothing but contempt for the woman

Nah, you're giving her more credit then she deserves. May is just an outright coward, trying to appease everyone with a compromise and falling miserably in the process while making the whole situation a thousand times worse. She's clueless and honestly thought that a medium road was the best way forward. It simply isnt and never was. We either needed an ardent believer in Brexit to take us out or a remianer to say the government was simply going to ignore the referendum on the grounds that they considered it advisory. Instead the got this absolute embarrassment of a PM who'll go down as possibly the worst PM in history.
Possibly some truth to this. She should never have gone in for the job in the first place

McVey gone as well now
This lads just heard as well...

BBC Radio 5 live
listeners have been texting 85058 with their reaction to today's developments:
Alan said: "I’m with Mr Raab – we need to get out now and then start talking terms. I want to see the European negotiators do the panicking for a change."

I don't think that Alan gets that this isn't exactly two way traffic.

That's the result of years of anti-EU propaganda from newspapers owned mainly by expatriates. People have absolutely no idea about the realities of the situation - they seem to think that leaving the EU is similar to leaving the local golf club or whatever.
