I wouldn't say it's easy to define in a right/left sense, but you are certain that you're right.

i reserve the right to be wrong

thing is we all sound sure of ourselves, but we can't all be right so some of our opinions must either be wrong or it's just all in the eye of the beholder.

@BlueToff is more right than most when he admits he's not entirely sure.

That said, you do agree with Jacob Rees Mogg, Boris, and Farage though.

You know quite well, roydo, that I have my own mind concerning the issue. I do not spend all and every day hanging on the words of those people, and a whole slew of others besides...

The above quoted sentence by roydo is the 1,894th entrapment question posed by remainers since 24th June 2016... (a JOKE folks!!!)

Lets look at this statement a bit closer.

Yes we lob billions at the EU every year for inclusion in the EU budget, but what you have failed to highlight is the money we get back from the EU in the form of our UK rebate, or the huge amount we receive in investment in the UK through EU funds.

In 2016 our contribution to the EU budget was £18.9bn. However, we got £5.2bn of this back in the UK rebate and we also received an additional £5.6bn of EU funds in the form of both public and private investment.

The actual net amount we sent to the EU in 2016 was £8.1bn, which worked out at £156m a week. And the reality is that as an EU member state the UK controls more than 98% of its public expenditure.

Our contribution to the EU should be weighed against the financial benefits it results in. The Confederation of British Industry estimates that EU membership is worth £3,000 a year to every British family — a return of nearly £10 for each £1 we pay in.

EU membership also allows us to live, work, study, travel, retire and do business anywhere across 27 other countries and have frictionless trade with our most important trading partners.

Now lets have a closer look at another of your statements

The European Commission doesn’t make laws. It only makes proposals, which are then debated, amended and passed (or rejected) by elected national governments and directly-elected MEPs.

In any case, Commissioners themselves are accountable to the European Parliament, which elects its president, approves its appointment and can dismiss it by a vote of no confidence.

We elect members of the European Parliament and if they’re not happy with legislation then it either doesn’t pass or they can amend it. Every five years UK voters have the opportunity to boot out their MEPs and replace them, if they wish, in European parliamentary elections.

So there you have it - you don't even know why you voted to leave the EU...so how about YOU stop talking twaddle!

Its a cross party muddle, granted, and it was a small jibe.

Anyrate, I didnt see your response to this. Would be interested in your opinion.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddddd another remainer gets his panties in a wad!

But he's forgiven because he is quite late to this particular party...

And to counter just one point (can't be arsed with the rest of the book above), in the Government Department I worked in, I saw changes made at EU level that went against/overturned what had previously been enacted by the UK Parliament. So please don't preach to me that the EU, in whatever form, does not make laws. If you believe that, you need to take a look again.

The twaddle stops with you...! ;) :D

Thats cos the UK have a nasty habit of gold plating EU stuff.

But you know that already.

After the shoite I have received in this thread, and seen Mods get away Scot-free time and time again with saying disgraceful things (not you, but I think you know who I'm referring to), I'm not giving any opinions in here. I'll save my opinions for how I think Everton are doing, and how individual players are performing...

Fair enough.

How I see it now is May will fetch a deal back brexiteers and remainers in her own party will have misgivings about it - the majority of Labour will vote against it as they want a GE the SNP and Lib dem will vote against it - the DUP for it more than likely she will lose the vote - unless it's her way or a no deal way then a deal may scrape through - all this in a background of her getting a vote of no confidence in the meantime....
Throwing up a different deal with probably the same scenario ....
It's a mess........
As it might be accept the deal or have a no deal.......

To be fair, I have been spanked several times.
