Don’t be silly Bruce. The ‘mess’ we are in is because of compromises and trying to keep everybody on side. Unfortunately it’s hard to reconcile those that want to leave with those that want to remain, therefore we will be in this Limbo were we are neither in nor out and will end up with the worst of all deals. The Government should have stuck to the referendum result and taken us out by next April. The country and the EU would have had a clear timetable and we could have prepared accordingly. Now it’s fudge after fudge, and no one knows if or when we will finally leave the EU......

Those 'compromises' as you put them, are because every person with any knowledge of these things knows full well that any deal we strike will be worse than what we have at the moment, and certainly stomping out without any deal at all. You refuse to acknowledge that for reasons I cannot fathom, but those with a degree of responsibility have to be less reckless. The difficulty is doing something they know will make things worse for people whilst still creating the impression that they won't be.

Don’t you think , for example, the best thing might have been to have taken some time to look at what needed to be in place before triggering article 50 instead of running headlong into it because it’ll be the easiest thing ever .

Clearly despite what was said it is and was never going to be easy but because of empty soundbites and because May was a remainer trying to placate the likes of JRM and Boris we had to rush everything. In reality if you’re getting what you want why does it have to be tomorrow ? Surely the best thing would have been to plan and execute it so it was maybe half this complete car crash we’re currently in.

We disagree on what we wanted and probably what kind of Brexit we want but I’m sure we agree we don’t want to be either in a mess or the country to suffer and at the minute that’s exactly what’s happening .

Part (or put another way the biggest part) of these compromises include the Tory reliance on the DUP and the good friday agreement. These have nothing to do with remainers but both were bleeding obvious right from the get go.

Why wait ? What was to be gained ? It just confuses people and introduces uncertainty. Businesses and the economy can live with most outcomes and will always find a way, what they can’t live with is uncertainty. Even after triggering article 50 we still had two years, which we have wasted.......

Because maybe if we’d examined things , for example , we wouldn’t be rushing headlong to this situation with a celebration done because we’ve a trade deal with six African nations or had less of the chaos over the border with red lines everywhere . I can’t believe we had to rush , aren’t you a business man ? Is it better to plan for a meeting , negotiation , deal or presentation or wing it ?

I understand you’re desire to Brexit , I do and it’ll happen but why did it all have to be done on the hoof , the whole thing just seems a disaster from start to finish and I can’t believe even those who want a Brexit wanted it to pan out like this .

We are indeed in a mess because now we are neither fish nor fowl. So I would rather we just left by next April, deal or no deal......

How can a no deal sit right with you? It's obviously going to be the worst thing for both sides.

The Brexit at all costs view is one I will never understand. At least when the Politicians and those with extreme wealth push for it, we at least know the consequences will be minimal for them as opposed to your regular person in the UK.

I think the problem is that there has never been a proper debate after the referendum. If Remainers had come out and said, ‘right we are leaving the EU so let’s ensure we get a good deal for the UK’, there would have been some kind of consensus found. Unfortunately the remainer attitude was one of, ‘they didn’t know what they were voting for, they are racist, we want a second referendum’ plus fighting a rearguard action trying to overturn the democratic result. It continues today. That’s why we are split and why Leavers no longer trust Remainers to actually deliver on leaving the EU, because they know that many Remainers, especially within the elite establishment, will do everything to keep us in. Even now it looks like another ploy and project fear mark 3 is being deployed to keep us in the EU for an unlimited time, when we should have completely left by next April.......Democracy in the U.K. has been badly served by this underhand approach.....
No it isn't, speaking from personal experience. Don't believe everything you read in the eurosceptic tory press.
Don't have too look at the Tory putrescence as I don't buy a newspaper- I just look at countries like Greece, Ital, and Spain to see how the Euro has caused devestation.....

No one wanted it to pan out like this. The problem as I have stated previously is that our negotiating position has been fundamentally undermined by Remainers who have given the EU the impression that we could be bullied and coerced into changing our mind, hence the use of NI as an EU negotiating ploy. Even now the EU bureaucracy are taking this to the limit, believing that we will just cave in. Well my experience tells me that while we wanted a good deal for both parties, a bad deal for us should be walked away from, and it is only when both sides understand that this will happen that a deal will be done. Most U.K. businesses will have their plans fully in place by now, most U.K. banks similar. I do not believe that the EU are ready, but that is down to them. Now we just need our politicians to grow a backbone......

Brexiteer politicians said something is easy , easiest thing ever For the life of me I just don’t understand how the people who told them it wasn’t easy and could well go badly are to blame for it in fact going badly .

Devastation ? Really ? I must remember to make a donation to the Spanish economy's disaster fund in its desperate hour of need. Who is feeding you this nonsense if it's not the media ?

So not "a calamity for most countries who are in it" then. At least you have admitted your error.

All 3 very recent facist or milatray junta countries, coming out of that is always troublesome it's very easy for us British to sit and castigate other countries while they move to their democracy, our journey has been equally troublesome.
