The United Kingdom has said no to everything proposed by the EU. That's because our Tory government is being held to ransom by the Unionists in Ireland. They have said no to everything. Where's the goodwill there? How will existing technology stop border crossings across a 300 mile border?
Looks I am doomed to continue supporting Everton. The 'answer' to EFC78's question lacks credibility, clarity or detail. Laughable.

It works both ways. There is a border. An agreement between the U.K. and ROI says it will not be a hard border. The U.K. have put into law that there will not be a hard border. This has nothing to do with the unionists. The EU are the only people saying there must be some form of border while rejecting all U.K. proposals. The U.K. should just walk away from discussions and refuse to put a hard border in place. Over to you Juncker......

So for about the 683rd time, how are you going to prevent EU immigration to the UK if there is an open border ?

This is trotted out each time. Well let’s be honest here, many countries currently fall foul of WTO requirements, we would just be another one, as would then also be the EU. It works both ways, it is not a single sided border......
It's like chatting with quick sand.
Philip Hammond just said you need a hard border and you're disputing it. You'd prefer to emulate some small African republic.

You think the UK stance on the border has nothing to do with the unionists?? The rest of your post is also nonsense

How will the United Kingdom protect it's border if it is not a hard border? Weren't the Brexiteers 'taking back our borders' to stop the pesky foreigners getting into our country? Is Northern Ireland different to the rest of the United Kingdom? Quite apart from goods coming through from the EU to a non EU country (which may well have lower food hygiene standards than the EU countries), immigration is the big question here. When will any of the Brexiteers realise this? Over to you, Brexiteers....

Immigration via NI is no issue. Nor is immigration through Gibraltar, Nor is immigration through Cyprus.....its only an issue in the minds of those that wish to see Brexit reversed......

And for the 684th time, no one is bothered because the ROI is not in Schengen so they have to count them in and count them out. Anyone caught in the U.K. who did not officially leave the ROI would be returned there.....
What are you on about ? There is no counting out of EU citizens crossing the border to the North. Complete failure to answer this question yet again.

Laughable this is! Please explain why immigration is not an issue in NI. If a European immigrant rocks up in Dublin and you have no hard border, what's to stop said immigrant going to Belfast? Are you okay with that? Nigel, Boris, Redmond, Rees-Mogg etc would surely want to keep 'em all out. Why is it 'only an issue in the minds of those that wish to see Brexit reversed'?

But WTO though that'll get them. Rees Mogg doesn't want to answer the EU migrant question across the border. And Rees Mogg has admitted there will be a border on the Irish Sea, as there is now, along with checks in the 'border vicinity'. They think WTO rules will not have to apply though, when they pull the 'national security' WTO exemplar that is being prepared with the Counter Terrorism and Border Security Bill, but they are mistaken.

Their responses are getting more and more bizarre the more desperate they get.

That the Irish government will count EU citizens in and out of Ireland is just about the most preposterous explanation of the border issue offered to date.

And to say "anyone caught in the U.K. who did not officially leave the ROI would be returned there" beggars belief.

These Brexiteers are living in a parallel universe where they imagine everything is just magically going to fall into place.
