The thing is, there's a fundamental disconnect between what businesses want (pretty much what we already have), and what leave voters want. There is nothing in the 'leave manifesto' that surpasses what businesses already enjoy from EU membership.

Yeah, I know mate. The point I was making earlier is that pretty soon them businesses will, or should do anyrate, start to being pressure to bear on the politicians to at least get some clarity, regardless of what that clarity actually looks like.

Just heard a snippet on Radio 2 news about that.

Same soup. The businesses urgently need the politicians to get it sorted, the way I see it anyrate.
Yes they do, at the minute you can only really plan for the worst possible outcome, as you have to be pragmatic. If there’s no clarity by the end of November at the very latest and it seems that ‘no deal’ is the likely outcome, then get ready, as scores of businesses will start rolling out their planning for that event, and it won’t be pretty.

As it stands, my van on the morning of 30th March, (thats the right date yeah?), will be a bit barren me thinks.

It's not just companies either. I know at least a handful of EU migrants who would like to do an extended period of work in Europe but are putting it off because they have no idea if they'll be allowed back or not. Indeed, the wife would like to do a research assignment across Europe, but is putting it on ice because we literally have no clue as to her status. It really is a complete and utter shambles.

Then on the next breath you’re suggesting that a drop of in trade with the U.K. will somehow cripple the Germans.

If I were one of the managers of a big German manufacturing firm (although applies equally to any of the other member states) I would be looking at the sort of stuff that the UK sells to the EU market and seeing if it was worth while to tool up and make clones of it. I would expect the big car manufacturers are already looking at tendering out what is made in the UK to EU based firms just in case of a no deal. We have turned ourselves into lame ducks and it is hunting season.

Like 98% of folk, being generous there, I hadnt given it a moments thought. Cocking mess this.

See mate?

Or, if you were the manager of the UK company selling stuff to the EU, you might just consider a relocation?
