Anyway, it’s all gone deliberately silent in the EU. Their response this week will probably determine the future of May and the likelihood of a Hard Brexit. They can accept her ridiculous over generous offer or do what they normally do and demand more, which they know will put Boris in number 10.......

How can we threaten a no deal exit with any supposed credibility after passing the withdrawal bill complete with Lord Pattens amendment?

Pete, out of interest, how do you propose planes will fly to/from Europe in the event of a no deal strop? How will medicines or nuclear materials be managed? You've chided numerous people here for apparent childishness in the past few days, but surely you can appreciate that a no deal scenario is the ultimate in petulance?

'No deal' actually means to force the nation to bend over backwards and accept a one-sided deal with the US. Take back control my arse.

Forget the longer term stuff, there are some immediate, practical ways that the UK and EU are integrated that if not resolved will create almighty problems. This nonsensical bravado about walking away with no deal is where the real traitors of this country can be found.

The idea that we could simply walk away without any form of agreement after becoming completely entwined with the EU in over 40 odd years of integration is and always was an idiotic notion that holds up to zero scrutiny.

However, it’s now become fundamentally impossible anyway. As the Withdrawal act carried an amendment that guaranteed that there’d be no additional checks or infrastructure at the Irish border post Brexit. This is now enshrined in U.K. law. In order to leave without a deal we’d have to revert to WTO rules, and they clearly state that we’d have to have border checks to ensure the integrity of both our market and the EU’s. The fanciful ideas that have been floated to avoid checks don’t exist in something called reality, and we’d have to have checks in place from day 1, otherwise we’d be in breach of WTO rules from day 1. It’s now dead as an option and thus as a meaningful threat.

Yes and they are only eaten at Christmas, oh by the way if you had used your Google machine they originated in Rome who are trying there best to leave the EU.........
The UK by the way can only claim to have used Kale , and Leek before being invaded..... in the early days of origin.....

They’ll charge off peak, in fact the technology is being worked on that will see the cars feeding back into the grid during peak useage and then charging off peak. Fully electric cars will increase their market share exponentially in about 2 years time.......
Yes we are really progressing-
Demand for electrified cars has surged in the last four years, with registrations increasing from around 3500 in 2013 to almost 119,000 in 2017. However, they still represented only 5.6% of the UK car market – and the majority of that was plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) rather than fully electric models.

The reason for this is that most of today's fully electric cars have quite a limited range between charges, making them unsuitable for long journeys. But a host of manufacturers are preparing to launch new models that solve this issue.....

And what? How does that add anything to or challenge what I posted?

Dream on? About what? What part of that post do you take issue with exactly?

These EU officials are desperate to keep Britain in, underhand tactics galore, veiled threats etc. Why on earth normal people are desperate to keep these non elected bureaucrats Sucking out hundreds of millions for their own gains baffles me. Are any of you Remainers happy to see that drunkard Juncker having influence in our country?

And what? How does that not tally with exactly what I said?

Speaking as a Remainer, I too have little affection for the EU, and get annoyed at the drift it seems to take.

But on balance, I value our trade, I value the free movement that the youth of the country take for granted, and I value the positive impact the movement of people has had on the UK, higher than some pie in the sky nonsense about taking back control and writing our rules.

I was convinced on the day the result was announced that millions of people had not really thought this through, beyond the clarion calls from Our Nige and Boris, (vault me), and not one single thing in the last two years has suggested I was probably right.
