To be fair, Corbyn has a nerve preaching to anyone about Brexit the way he's sat on the fence so much. He's fudged it all along. We've had a dire performance from both of the two main parties at a time when we needed real leadership.

Nearly all the wasters in the Commons are putting party before country mate, and I don't excuse any of them, but it's a mildly funny gag.

Anyway Remainers, I’ve asked this question before and it was either ignored or just used as an EU sales pitch, but I’ll ask again. What is it about an Independent U.K. that you are frightened of ?........
Frightened of? We’re already independent Pete, so the premise is moot.

When we achieve this supposed ‘taking back of control’ which EU ruling that impinges on your personal ‘freedom’ are you most looking forward to us sacking off? Which one is top of the list? (I assume that it’s a long list as well, given that it’s apprarently the prime reason for leaving amongst the Brexiteers).

I’m not referring to the customs union either, I’m asking about things that negatively affect people’s day to day lives, that will see their lot improved once we leave.

It's a sad situation for sure. I know the Commons Library team a little bit and they do superb work to try and inform the MPs and ensure that policy is evidence driven when possible, but that all seems to have gone out the window where Brexit is concerned as any kind of consideration and evidence have been discarded in this 'we don't need experts' nonsense. What's even more pernicious is that this analysis is regarded as treacherous if it doesn't support the gut instinct of people. What a bloody age to live in.

We’re going to find out this weekend just how far the Brexiteers in the cabinet are prepared to put their ideology and populist agenda ahead of what’s in the best interests of the Nation.

I asked Joe that the other day and didn't get a response. I was almost tempted to say that I'm adopted (which is actually true - although to my knowledge I've never been sacked from the BBC yet)

You, me and James O’Brien then haha, you couldn’t make it up. I suppose we’d be ‘virtue signalling’ or some other alt right label of the week, if we mentioned it.

But this is only a veil to obscure the agenda of the very few.

I don't trust Johnson and Mogg as far as I can throw them (much less Farage et al), but I actually think many in the cabinet, such as Gove, Fox, Davis, and probably even Corbyn and McDonnell have had a long held Euroscepticism. Whilst some this has been a political powergrab, sadly for many this is the culmination of a long held obsession.

The mask is starting to slip though, people are starting to see through it finally imo. It won’t be long until the finger pointing really starts gathering pace amongst the less entrenched Leavers imo. I thought the reaction to Danny Dyers outburst last week was very telling, as he was largely supported by both sides after that, and he was a Brexit voter.

'Kinell though :)

My concern at the moment is that we are neither fish nor fowl. Economies as you know continually grow, reduce, stagnate and grow again and no nation is the strongest/weakest for ever. If unemployment was going through the roof then there may be cause to change tack, but it isn’t, it is absolutely booming at over 32M. Pay is starting to rise again and as long as the balance between job creation and productivity is maintained we will gontinue to grow. To suggest that we are one of the weakest economies in Europe is laughable quite honestly with unemployment at just 4.2%, the lowest since the mid seventies. We are doing alright, and irrespective of how we leave the EU our trade with them will continue and vice versa, but there will be no excuses either for government or business not to then grasp the opportunity and use Brexit to grow and develop further. It’s analogous to getting the children to leave home, without taking that step away from the familiar and the comfort zone no one ever prospers......

Pete we have gone from the best economy to the worst (in terms of performance/growth relative to our peers).

But in your world that's not bad?

How can any debate ever progress if you continue to argue black is white?
