Eggs, you are right to worry, but there was worry with the old system. Give the decision time to settle and I am sure you will see benefits.

For me I look at it that, whilst some things may not be positive for me personally...it will be positive for others and I will benefit in ways.

Young people with the right attitude should prosper, just the same as when we were in. Be positive and I hope Brexit will result in opportunities for our youngsters. We need to push opportunities towards training and jobs so that the young'uns grasp life opportunities and then drive the country forward. There will always be people who don't take those opportunities, but others will and Europe will still require our talented youngsters.

Massive decision today, lets give it a chance to flourish.

By the way I will be in the Litherland Retirement Home if you wish to eject me in 20 years time

Where do you think these magical jobs for the "young'uns" will come from when we are exporting less and many business operations are moved overseas?
You can't just "be positive and hope", there needs to be some kind of actual plan.

I've never claimed to be knowledgeable in politics, but to me the main lesson to be learnt out of all of this is that the public simply don't know enough about politics or economics and something must be done about it. I'm not saying that the leave decision was the wrong one, or the right one, but the majority of people just don't understand the ramifications of either outcome. Both campaigns were an utter mess and full of scare tactics

Perhaps politics and economics should be compulsory subjects at school? Surely it would be far more useful knowledge than religious studies, for example.
With a Tory government for the foreseeable future and an overwhelmingly Murdoch-dominated press, the chances of educated and informed decisions seem slim. Tory education policy inparticular is toxic and designed to deny people from lower socio-economic backgrounds a chance to fulfill their potential. (That being said I'm somewhat heartened by stats suggesting that under-30's were overwhelmingly in favour of staying in the EU. Gutted for youngsters like my God-daughter who is just too young to vote but who feels her future hopes have been betrayed by Brexit).

Sky has not fallen
I still get taxed
I still work
I still pay NI

- absolutely nothing changes for me, and the majority of you lot. The mental hysterics is unreal.
I'm semi-retired having paid tax & NI all my working life
I'm virtually mortgage-free after being lucky enough to buy at the right time
Ergo 'I'm all right Jack', even after the referendum
But I DON'T GIVE A STUFF! It's not about what's best for me, it's about what's best for the younger generation and for the future of this country. And Brexit is patently not it.

Why is that so hard for some people to grasp?

Because as the post above says, nothing has really changed. All that has changed is fluctuations on currency due to greedy gamblers. How do you know it's worse for the future? Did you expect the EU campaign of ever further integration to magically stop? Did you expect staying in a zone with a basket case currency to be risk free?

There were simply no certainties either way. Nothing has changed yet. Hysteria is bizarre.
