But what if it's about how we leave, which wasn't on the ballot in the first instance?

If Leave is so confident that we're better off out, why are they afraid of a democratic vote on the how now that they've won the argument of why?

We vote at general elections without knowing how they are going to govern. Nor does any party check with the electorate of how they are managing nor of why they are doing something. We voted, a decision was made, you don’t accept the decision. This is a bad situation where a vote is taken yet some just refuse to accept the result. Democracy in the U.K. is dead......

...Government defeated on Brexit Bill amendment.

Fingers crossed but this is hopefully the start of some common sense getting a grip on this circus.

Given how tense it was at the climax of Phase 1 of the Brexit process it seems impossible that the coming months won't contain even more difficult moments for the government.

At some point that has to bring down May's government and we will have another General Election. Nigel Farage will swing back to rally the hard brexit mob and, hopefully the path will open up for this madness to be reversed.

We can but hope

Pete. Look you're a Blue and like a drink so instantly I can never really take against you as you share my two main passions but...

You couldn't be more wrong here.

1. Ever heard of a "Manifesto"?
2. And an elected government is constantly held to account both in parliament on a daily basis and then at the next election.

I find it rather upsetting that the younger generation cannot accept a vote. They voted for Corbyn without any real understanding of what would happen, based on promises of free money and paying off debts, yet had he won we would have had to accept it. The reaction and continued reaction to this vote is not a good sign for the future of our country....

Jesus relax would you. It was a guess based on content of your posts.

Damn, you over react to everything.

It wasn't even a dig or anything.

You make everything toxic for yourself and then accuse people of going after you. Pathetic really.

A simple innocent post becomes a platform for a viral response from you.

I'm surprised you didn't say i was attacking you like you normally do...

I've posted enough times in this thread that I'm a Labour voter, and always have been. I despise that other party, and all it stands for. To be associated with them is just... well you can guess.

Make assumptions, and it's 50/50 you get it wrong.

As usual, you go over the top with your response. Some things never change. Never mind, we're 1-0 up at half-time. Big Sam shut-out in the second half and it's 3 points away for the first time in nearly a year. Meanwhile back to the dirge soon that has been WHAM v Whingers team...

Oh the irony. Over the top responses are you thing. Thinking people are 'attacking you' when they question a comment you made or the gem below. Haha!!

If that is referring to me, you are f*cking joking!!! I wouldn't feed any of the bastards! I'm a lifelong Labour voter, and always will be.

So what else have you got completely 100% wrong about me...?

It would have been easier to simply say i was wrong and drop the condescension.

You assumed i was taking the mick or insulting you. I wasn't Sorry i haven't got time to scroll through 1500 pages to check whether you have mentioned who you support.

Sorry if someone making an observation is upsetting to you because they "assumed" something.

Nope, that's an outright lie I'm afraid. We voted, a decision was made, but it was not about how we leave - it was merely to leave.

Therefore, there should either be a vote, completely unwhipped, in the HoC or a second referendum on the terms, and as Leavers place so much regard on non-binary referendum results, my suggestion is to have exactly the same on the terms.

When those of us who voted to join the EEC did so, we didn’t have a follow up vote of how we should enter, nor indeed on the terms, because we never voted to join. If the remainers lost any further vote, they would then question not only the how, but the when, and the who, it would be a neverendum......

We are in a key negotiation. We need to show a unified team. Obviously Labour will create as much mayhem as possible, they have nothing else to offer. The Tory MP’s, however, who have cut the legs from under the PM should not just be ashamed of themselves, they should be sacked from any positions they hold and deselected from standing in the future as a conservative MP. If they were leave voting MP’s, I could understand them taking a stance on principle regarding a parliamentary vote, but I expect they will be the usual remainer moaners. Perhaps someone can check ......

Heads have fallen off(!)

The opposition opposes.

amazing that England actually had a civil war over the authority of the parliament

and now ye want to stop giving them the authority to vote on the terms of a deal!!!

You could not make it up.

Even an ardent Brexiteer should be anxious to see the final deal and let his elected parliament have a vote on it.

Unless it is Brexit for Brexit's sake and hang the consequences.

Which unfortunately seems to be the case with most of them.
