Unelected bureaucrats is my favourite one, like we elect Simon Stevens or any of the senior civil servants in this country rather than them being appointed (and accountable) to the people we do elect, which is just like it is in the EU.
Why have two European parliaments miles from each other?
The EU is not democratic overpaid beurocrats on paying less tax and get better pensions than our MPs for doing what?
The seldom audit their acounts such a brilliant organisation- Not!

Doesn't matter anyway mate. I was only trying to have a joke but there you go, my bad.
The thing is tho, it didn't even make sense.
Why would he be wearing a soviet hat?
Would the caller who wanted to limit immigration, give the government more control of the economy and limit his own market size, not be more in line with soviet thinking.
It's stupid, it doesn't make any sense and it's sentiment is to divide and upset.

That said. do keep posting, It's important, just maybe not stupid memes.

Your looking into my post way to much. I simply saw James O'Brien mentioned (sombody who I think is bit of a pretentious arse) so tried (and clearly failed) to make a weak joke. Thats all there is to it really. Nothing more, nothing less. A rubbish joke that clearly doesn't make sense to you and has been misinterpreted by others.

Look mate, I appreciate I've come over as an arse in the last few pages and I'd take back the original (misinterpreted) post and all the ones that followed if I could. The whole thing is an absolute load of nonsense caused by a stupid post be misconstrued.

The only reason I jumped on it was because of how uncharacteristic it was of you.

We're still lovers though, gimmie a kiss you sexy [Poor language removed].

That's absolutely standard mate. Here's another example on the brilliant James O'Briens show

Wow that's... cringe-inducingly brutal. And he's spot on - that's the cliché; that is 99% of Brexit voters, because whether they like to admit it or not, they didn't vote the way they did based on actual facts. They voted based on instinct. They had no evidence to back up the instinct, but whether it was "taking back control" or "immigration" they simply felt there was a problem, yet when challenged on it have absolutely no clue how to substantiate what the problem was exactly. As we see in this very thread.

All that O'Brien fella did there to send the guy into a death spiral live on air was ask him simple questions he had no answer to. And we're leaving the European Union and causing ourselves vast, irreparable harm based on irresponsible decision making from people like that. Madness.

Would you accept if there was a second referendum before 2019 that overturned Brexit?

On a point of principle, no. The vote to leave was taken and now should be enacted. Once we have left, and given it a fair chance to work, if another vote says go back in then fair enough. Attempting to change the referendum vote before it is enacted would undermine the whole purpose of a majority vote......

But there is no such thing as a UK vote mate, it’s an English vote really. Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland have no Democratic right to oppose Brexit if England chooses to accept it, it’s an English vote really and the rest are also rans. That is autocratic rule.

I accept your point on European law, that said countries can hold referendums on treaties were European law and treaties are in conflict with constitutional law. All the European courts also don’t have supremacy over all domestic courts either,

I just find it fascinating that no one ever talks about the disenfranchised element of voting in the UK. It’s clearly undemocratic. For it to be considered a democracy why not give each nation 25% of the overall vote proportionally to the tally when it comes to UK issues like Brexit.

If England voted leave by 51-49% and Scotland, NI and Wales all voted to remain, we would have remained, with the English vote effectively not counting. Don’t forget many people in Scotland and Ireland voted to leave and also that the people of Wales voted to leave. One person, one vote, regional nationality had nothing to do with it. We currently have parliament effectively controlled by the DUP from NI. It’s not always the large voting blocks carrying the power........

But what if it's about how we leave, which wasn't on the ballot in the first instance?

If Leave is so confident that we're better off out, why are they afraid of a democratic vote on the how now that they've won the argument of why?
