Are you seriously suggesting that President Juncker is just another faceless civil servant. If we had a civil servant that behaved like Juncker, the PM could sack them. Again, how can anyone in the U.K. get rid of Juncker.....

Of course, he is more powerful than Jeremy Heywood, but then he's also more democratically accountable, as he's selected directly by the European Parliament, having first been proposed by the European Council. So the people you vote for have a direct say in who is appointed, just as they have a direct say in what that appointee does.

I believe each president of the commission serves a five year term, and as he was appointed in November 2014, the processes for replacing him will be underway shortly.

List 5 massive money-generating ones.

Or keep avoiding the question like.

I think it would be more useful if Pete could say how industry was being attracted to previously unattractive parts of the country, as May directly took the referendum result as mandating her to do. He couldn't think of any examples in Ebbw Vale. Maybe Barnsley Pete? How about Portsmouth? Hastings perhaps? Carlisle?

It doesn't have to be jobs or anything, maybe even increased government spending in those areas? New train lines or something.

Why have a civil service that is democratically accountable, why not have one that is professionally trained to do the job. As opposed to one of jobs for the boys. For you to claim that appointing Juncker, against the vocal and express wishes of our PM, is somehow democratic is disturbing. So, back to my question and the real answer is that no one, not one single person nor the combined other 65 million people of the U.K. , can get rid of this ‘President’. Just think about that for a minute, then perhaps you might begin to understand why some people voted for Brexit......

You seem to be struggling with this, but let me ask you again, how can anyone get rid of Jeremy Heywood? How about Simon Stevens? You're getting hung up on a title when in reality he is the CEO of the EU civil service.

Our PM can sack or remove him. We can sack the PM.......

I think you will find that I have already done this within this thread. Look back or just google it. I just can’t be bothered listing them again......
Yeah mate excuse me while I browse 1480 pages for the next 73 days.

It's just you state these things as if you actually know the answers, so thought I'd check if you do. Thanks for the answer.
