Fwiw:
A Department of Health spokesperson said: “This survey does not stand up to scrutiny; in fact, there are actually more EU doctors working in the NHS since the EU referendum, more EU graduates joining the UK medical register and 3,193 more EU nationals working in the NHS overall.”

20% of European doctors plan to leave the country after Brexit. Hopefully Chris Grayling can grow some in his allotment.

Time will tell I suppose. Given the ambition to reduce immigration numbers though, has the government released any guidance on plans to increase the number of native born medical students, or plans to attract those that have emigrated back?

Very little said about it, I believe, I would take both points with the proverbial pinch, i'm sure the strength of the pound (which was obv's tanking before the referendum) has a role to play.

Dear me, I’ve just read a similar article about how all the EU University lecturers will also be leaving and our Universities will collapse. If people leave they leave, if they stay they stay, whatever will be will be.......So we had the economic scaremongering, now we’re getting the skills shortage scaremongering, what’s next I wonder.....

You don't think reducing immigration will impact the talent available? Maybe theose leave voting towns will suddenly produce a load of doctors.

I believe Amazon are looking for a new HQ location. I trust that Lincolnshire has put its hat in the ring?

So there's talent abroad, but not in the UK? That appears to be your constipated thinking, Bruce...

I see that 23 EU states have signed up for the EU Army, which we were assured would never happen of course. This could well spell the end of NATO in its present form. Once the EU has stitched this together, primarily for the benefit of French and German defence industries, they will then start to throw their weight around, beginning with a demand for a permanent seat on the UNSC.......

You have a real downer on Lincolnshire for some reason.......

Gee whizz, if only we had some sort of veto to stop it...

Yes, but it's actually much more than that. We want the UK to be innovative, both academically and commercially, and monoculture is the worst thing imaginable for that.

R&D spending is done globally now. The best academics are those who mix with those from diverse backgrounds. There are countless studies on the importance of mobility and diversity for science and innovation.

Why stop it, if that’s what they want then so be it.

I see RT have put their slant on it.....”How the future pan-European military would be used is yet to be seen. However, the EU may be preparing for a possible significant instability affecting some of its members, suggested geostrategic expert Konstantin Sokolov.”
“In a scenario of social disruption in a country, its police force becomes unreliable because it is staffed by regular citizens, who have local families and friends and may not support the government policies. They are affected by the turmoil,” he told RT. “But an international force would just follow orders and are less impacted by the sentiment in the local population.”

Hahaha......

It's all a bit vague Bruce. Obviously science is best approached with an open mind.
There were no obstacles when, twenty years ago, I worked with several medical prof's around the globe. If there's an impediment now, I believe it's due more to the commercialisation of science, and hubristic patenting rights for corporations.

I was on my phone so couldn't really do much, but there has been an awful lot of research into this topic. A few of the more recent ones:
