Take the partisan goggles off --if I understand him correctly, he's stating that the vote to leave has been distorted politically so that it's only serving far-right interests, and as such, won't represent a substantial section of leave voters, excepting vague token.

Well I'm certainly not right-wing.

'Lying scum'. Well you better line up a whole lot of Remain campaigners for shooting as well, starting with Cameron & Osbourne!

No one will know the impact of Brexit until several years down the road after the exit date in 2019.

Nevertheless, yours is an entertaining Remain post...

It really is disingenuous of you, Bruce, to start quoting places the way you have done above. It smacks of you insinuating that they are somehow inferior to you and others of your kind (those who mix in higher circles, which you do from what you have previously posted).

Remember, all those posts of yours (and others) regarding the views of people in responsible positions somewhere near the top of the totem pole does not equate to those views being correct. Once again I will say, look at how much Carney has made an idiot of himself in the last 17 months (I would put it in far stronger tersm but I would get a warning or a ban), and Osbourne to boot in the immediate aftermath of the Referendum.

So somehow, just somehow, the people in those towns can equally be clear thinkers as the likes of yourself and other suits...

I'm sure as someone that reads this thread as avidly as you do, was aware that it was an ongoing discussion between Pete and I based on his assertion that leave voters are the bold forethinkers that will ensure Brexit is a success and Britain has a vibrant future. The places I mentioned above were the five most leave voting areas in the country, I was merely asking him if these towns were going to drive Britain forward. Is that something you believe will happen? Do they exemplify the buccaneers that Pete believes represent the leave voter?

Only serving far-right interests? However do you come by that conclusion? The reason I ask, orchard, seriously, is that I see the Referendum as totally cross-party, which was exemplified by the politician make-up of the respective campaigns.

The referendum itself may have been, the application of the result not so much.

I follow guitar forums, and certain military forums more avidly than I follow this thread. I look in every day, but it certainly isn't the be-all-and-end-all of my internet activity, as you know Bruce.

Anyway, the reason I took you to task is because it IS disingenuous to cherry-pick 7 locations in the UK and then try to base a proposition around those 7. That is not a valid proposal in any way. A bit like citing the House of Lords and then claiming the UK is populated by upper-class twits! But to then ask if you quoted towns were going to drive Britain forward - really Bruce, I expect a better level of discussion from you. And to ask me if that's something I believe will happen! Are you serious? You put that kind of impossible question to me, and expect that I will answer it. I call it an impossible question - I could call it something far less generous than that...

Incredible news.

So it's clear, the options are going to be:

A no-lube barrel-bending Brexit, where all power is returned to the business elite. Normal people effectively become pawns.

Or no Brexit.

More like a choice between:
-worst deal with Eu imaginable (concocted by May and DD with no parliamentary/devolved input)
And:
-'hard' Brexit
