Hope the gig went well mate.....

Just got home now. Always goes well at this venue. Landlord loves the blues stuff we do. Onwards and upwards to the next gig next Tuesday on the North Norfolk coast. Crazy really - a one track village that packs the pub every Tuesday for blues music! Real 'Leave' country, I believe.

I’m sorry mate, but the last lad who worked for me who said that ‘it couldn’t be done’ was unfortunately shown the door, his replacement achieved what was wanted. Anything can be achieved with the right amount of thought, will and money. Anyone who just gives in has just not given it enough thought.......
lol

I give my stakeholders honesty mate, not waffle and BS.

When you figure out how it can be done let me know.........I won't be holding my breath.

I see that Hilary Clinton is now lecturing us about Brexit, that should convince a few more remainers to get on board Brexit....

Lots of people have an opinion because frankly lots of people think it's a ridiculous decision . The voting public disagreed & that's democracy , the same democracy that elected Donald Trump & Putin but that's democracy for you but it doesn't mean because you believe in it it's beyond criticism surely ?

She was using it as way of saying Brexit was based on a lie, just like Trump was based on a lie, please buy my book......

It was based on a lie, though. There is no ambiguity there. It started off as a Tory ploy to appease parts of their base that were turning to UKIP. While remain often pushed forward the nightmare scenarios of leaving, it was at least based mostly in fact. Leave campaigned on many outright lies. £350m a week for the NHS. We can stay in the single market but control borders. Turkey is about to join the EU. We can just join the WTO. Immigrants come here to sponge benefits. Brussels bosses us around with rules we don't want... all these were outright lies.

Trump's election was also unambigiously based on lies.

Whether you like or hate Clinton, or see her as pimping her book, she's not wrong on either of those counts.

Oh jeez, haven't you read, or been involved in, the last fourteen-hundred odd pages?

Both sides resorted to lies, not just one.

And the £350 million a week figure was a COMPARATIVE figure for illustration purposes, not a definite guarantee. Why? Because it was a campaign to secure a vote, not a Government-based guarantee of what would be done. There is a difference...

The rest of the paragraph is just typical remain whingeing which has been lobbed at those who voted leave time and time and time and time etc. again...

I think what it is mate, is that unlike Leavers, most Remainers voted to stay in cos of one of 2 reasons; fear of the unknown and/or free trade. I havnt met one single enthusiastic remain voter, but plenty of anxious/nervous ones.

The arguments and reasons to vote to leave were more varied, and probably applied to different folk depending on their experiences. Immigration, cost, annoyance, interference, corruption, etc etc.

Now the process has begun, painfully slowly, its starting to dawn on people that their personal gripe, might actually be traded away in negotiations, and/or the golden vision is now in the hands of a pretty feeble Government.

Its not moaning, its realisation that perhaps, we should re think this whole thing. I dont expect a passionate leaver like you to agree, but in my experience, its the reality.

It was clearly used by the Brexit campaign and strongly implied on repeated occasions that the money would be used to fund the NHS.

The public were completely misled on this point, and to imply it was only used as a 'comparative' is totally disingenuous.

And here is a link showing one of the chief Brexit architects admitting they would never have won the referendum without the £350m for the NHS claim:

I think most leavers had nothing to lose, either because they were retired or because they were not doing well in the current system. As with all populist movements, they were promised a golden future that would be both an absolute doddle and a guaranteed certainty. They've been sold royally up the river.
