Stop being a drama queen. I never "attacked" you over that comment.

Did i suggest that its a conspiracy theorist view and a bit outrageous yes but attack haha!!

Pete you are something else. You can never see anyone else point of view and when you deem something is personal you get bent out of shape but then you subtly or not so subtly insult that person and "attack" (seen as you like that word) with your anti EU rhetoric.

Also stop trying put words in peoples mouths either that or you misinterpret a lot

In my posts in other posts and well now Ruairis post you are doing that.

Yeah, attack is far too strong a word. I can see others points of view, and when they are right I will say so....there is as you say a fair degree of misinterpretation that goes on, which is only natural when all you see is the printed word.....

The same people claim credit for peace in Europe, forgetting the efforts of many allied countries, NATO, and the standing armies of the US and the U.K. in Germany. But no, it was all down to the EU.......of course when the Yugoslav wars broke out, again it was NATO and not any EU commission that brought peace......

He never said that. He said their efforts they have never said they solely did anything for the love of god, Pete stop it you are so far off because of your hate it makes you blind.

You realise they are listed as part of the UN, albeit an observer and many of its members are part of the UN too and many of its members are peacekeeping forces or have helped as allies in past wars.

Some of NATO's members are EU also.

Also its not just about the war element its after with like mention peacekeepers and the subsequent envoys of aid etc... that and then the political arm.

Stop being so black and white with this. They do not solely take credit for it but are or have been involved in many of this whether it be directly or indirectly.

When you hate something you will never see positive in anything they do.

So you’ve only known the EU, yet even though Ireland and the U.K. put in place common travel and trade zones before the EU existed, you believe that the EU are responsible for the peace. Earlier I was attacked for suggesting that the EU is brainwashing the young......
You make it sound like I'm giving the EU total credit. I'm not, but I believe it was an element. And as for the brain washing suggestion, a tad hypocritical with all your 'play the man not the ball' stuff

It’s all relative.....two of my children are older....

What has someones age got to do with their knowledge?

So we should all bow down to you and your kids or something?

Madness you seem to think the young are clueless or are getting brainwashed and your here to fix that right?

Wow, talk about misinterpretation. He mentioned his age because I used the words ‘the young’, I then said it was all relative, you interpret that as me saying ‘bow down to me and my kids’......

No, its not haha!!

When you say "its all relative" to someone you are basically being condescending to them and kind of ageist as if they wouldn't know because of their age. Especially when you follow up mentioning your kids are older than him as are you (Why you brought your kids into is anyone's guess). When you do that you seem to be making a point that age makes you wiser? If not then what point are you making as i would suggest none if its not age related. Then your comment is just more nonsense.

It's your words mate. You said it like "well me and my kids are older than you and we know better"

So i made a tongue in cheek comment that you are suggesting that you plus your kin are all knowing because you are older and therefore wiser... get it now?

I see lots of positives with being part of Europe. I voted to join it. There are even today many positives to being in the now EU, but I see more being out of it. What does the EU being a UN observer have to do with anything apart from their ambition to be a single country. Of course many of its members are in NATO, but what does that have to do with the EU, if the EU disappeared tomorrow NATO would still be there, if NATO disappeared tomorrow the EU would probably be overrun by Russia. You raise the aid issue, which is provided by the likes of ourselves then repackaged with an EU badge. The history of the European Coal & Steel Community, then the European Economic Community, before the EU came into being in 1993, was one of trade and not political union. We didn’t get to vote on the EU until last year......

You didn’t use the tongue in cheek font......

In April 2008 there was a conference held at the University of Ulster on the role of the EU in the peace process. It was attended by various delegates from Northern Ireland and the EU, including Ian Paisley and Martin McGuiness. The Irsih News ran the headline, 'EU played huge role in peace process beyond finds of €1.5 billion, forums hears.

Can't post the link.

It is ridiculous to suggest that Verhofstadt said the EU was responsible for peace in Northern Ireland. He never claimed anything so fanciful. Maybe Johnson and Gove could take a sensible leaf out of Verhofstadt's book and not make wild claims. Gove would do well to keep his snout out of Brexit talks as he keeps making a pig ear of himself, when he opens his mouth.

"Like us" you mean its members right? Or do you mean Britain but even then you guys are still members and are expected to contribute right? Especially in times of need.....

You do understand how the EU works. Everything it does, spends, gains, loses, decides etc.. all has to do with its members Jeeper's you make it sound like 12 men/women on a panel deciding the fate on Europe and pillaging from them and the using it to big up themselves.

So apart from providing our own money, what did they actually do. The Irish Politicians north and South of the border did their bit, as did John Major, Mo Mowlem and Tony Blair. Bill Clinton can throw his hat in as well, besides the police and security services and the civil servants of the U.K. and Ireland. Even the terrorists had a hand in bringing peace. But please tell me just one single thing that anyone from the EU brought to the party.......
