As I said, I think the issue is about language. All these numbers are wonderful but just go to show that we don't actually control them, which is what Boris is on about. Oh and in your figures, while the originating countries pay ToR, that money still belonged to the UK because we imported the goods, but we only get to keep 20% of it.......
The UK keeps 25% of ToR which goes into the exchequer. 'Still belonged to the UK' is not correct as it is the exporting country that pays and not the UK. All the UK does is pass it over and gets paid for doing so about £800 million per year admin costs. That money will disappear from the UK when it negotiates trade deals with other countries, unless it is still going to charge customs duties on goods coming into the UK. It is 'dead money' and is part of the gross payments, but the buffoon Johnson wants to try and hoodwink people with exaggerated hyperbole. Johnson did a similar thing when Major of London with housing 'new starts' per year.
According to Johnson figures, the UK owns the EU £87.5 billion for the EU budget years 2017-2022 that the UK signed up to. So after 2019 when the UK leaves it still owes 3 years money = £52.5 billion. This is why those in the 'negotiating' team want Johnson to shut up because as soon as he opens his mouth he puts his foot in it all the time and hasn't a clue. Mind, when the UK pays about £20 billion 'divorce' settlement Johnson and his irk will attempt to claim a 'great victory'.
The £350 billion per week lie has always upset Johnson as he finds it very difficult to be shown he is wrong. Johnson has always implied that the UK will 'control' the '£350 million per week' but this is blatantly not a correct figure and he has been pulled up over it. He then has a hissy fit and throws his dummy out the pram and demands an apology. The more Johnson is involved the more he will screw up even more the Tories poor 'negotiations'. They are so split on what to do to leave the EU that open civil war has broken out and Johnson just adds fuel to the fire.
