Sorry what now?
There are VW, Opel/Vauxhall, BMW (remember they now own Aston Martin and Mini though, so not really sure if it's classed as a German car per se) assembly plants in the UK, pumping out circa 100-230k cars a year or something.

Honda, Nissan and Toyota are also in the UK, and the Nissan Qashqai has been the bestselling car/SUV in Europe for about 3 years running or something, assembled both for import and export in the UK - about 500,000 of them up to 2016.

And this is all good, but it's GERMAN/JAPANESE tech and plants - they can just as easily pull half/all the plant out and move it somewhere else, thus people will lose jobs and they'll remain partially in just so that they can produce some cars for Britain, thanks to your silly "driving on the obviously wrong side, but it's okay cuz we're unique" thing. FFS.

It's not exactly everyone bricking themselves just because they can't assemble cars in the UK - if they move it anywhere near Central and Eastern Europe the countries will boom, plus we're all close to the Eurasian connection, as well as labour here costing them about 1/3 of what it would in Britain. Same goes for any kind of assembly, be it machinery, computers, you name it. Considering we (Bulgaria), in particular, now assemble parts for Asian cars - I'd gladly welcome the fact Toyota, Honda, Nissan, VW and Opel will get cheaper.

Yeah and 43 in Europe alone, in fact, that's out of 44, drive on the right. Seeing as this is about Europe it's redundant where the Japanese drive, no? The majority of cars produced in the UK are normal-sided and shipped and sold in Europe as well ffs. And this has nothing to do with the argument I presented about the 'German' cars and the fact they'd find it quite easy to switch production.

Not as easy as you make out - no remoaner ever looks to trading worldwide where more avenues of work investment etc -instead of being dictated to by a EU polictical union?!

Every time you use 'remoaner you' instantly make your argument invalid because it's childish as anything. Imagine I kept calling you a Leavetard every single time I post.

And I'm aware it's not easy (and when did I say that exactly?), but honestly - you mean to tell me the UK, being close to Europe, is going to remain making cars for Europe, as any manufacturer will decide "you know what, I'll make my cars outside of Germany, but then ship them in and also PAY EXTRA to do so back to France"? Honestly?

And because the UK is absolutely exclusive and absolutely no one else in the world will ever strike a deal with the EU without Britain?

VW don't produce any cars in the UK. Opel / Vauxhall is owned by Peugeot.

The major issue facing the existing assembly plants in the UK, is our exit from the customs union, not only in terms of tariffs for the cars built here and exported to the EU, but for imported components that flow in for 'just in time' deliveries to the plants. The complexity in the supply chain that Brexit will bring, together with the export / import tarriffs makes the long term future of these non British owned facilities questionable.

Just accept the out result and look at it positively?

VW own and make Bentley there. Vauxhall being now owned by PSA is something that skipped my mind but that's a brand new acquisition and it used to be Opel/GM. Irrelevant anyway tbh, as it remained in Europe, just bits of info I s'pose.

And basically what I said as well.

You asked for products that we would sell, I listed just a few of them, how does that not answer your question. Did you want a 5000+ list....I mean come on.....
You listed products that we already sell (and you didn't quantify to where either)

The question was why would demand for these products suddenly increase post Brexit?

Question for you Joey.

Why didn't the leave campaign just accept we were in the EU and look at it positively ?
I voted twice to be in the common market trade agreement not for a polictical union and you know what you lost so just look at it from a democratic view, by the way the welsh referendum 25 years in anniversary this week was voted in by 0.6 % no one moaned they just got on with it don't know how its worked out but the vote was smaller than the EU one on a smaller turn out - just get over it and think positive instead of throwing spanners in the works.
Junker made it quite clear where the EU is going now we are leaving so that pleases me and perhaps would push more people to the exit doors in this country - EU army - more Euro currency etc etc let them get on with it - Boris who I do not like has the right idea!
We survived without them before we can do it again!

You didn't really answer my question Joey.

You're telling remain voters to just be positive and stop throwing spanners in the works. Well I'd propose that the leave vote has thrown a spanner in the works of the lives of the young people in this country, and that the older generations perhaps should have taken their own advice and just accepted our membership of the EU and been positive.

As for surviving without them, I'd argue that life is about more than just survival.
