The EU, and indeed quite a few on here are still in the early stages.....

You can see this all the time from different folk in the EU and the Remain camp......

China and the USA will remain the most important trade partners of the EU, and with the newly negotiated deal with Canada and the current negotiations with Japan, the EU won't stand that much worse, not having a favourable trade deal with the UK.

Military help has far more to do with NATO than the EU. You could feel free to leave NATO as well though?

We're just leaving the EU, a trading block. You might wish to consult the seven stage chart and work out where you are.....

What is it about being frightened of the number 27. Most of these are tiny countries. I've posted this before.....

Now look at who suffers the most and ask who has the most to lose.....

Yeah, but, the fact is that all of those ^^^^ countries risk damage to their trade with ONE country. We now face damage to our trade with ALL of them .

But at least we can make our own rules.

You brought up the military part.

Indeed. Besides having troops stationed in Europe as part of our NATO commitments, we have also offered assistance to any EU only military enterprise, but as the country with the largest military budget in Europe and one of only two nuclear powers, this doesn't come cheap.....

You know what I mean. There are those that contribute and those that receive. Some nations, especially Germany, carry far more weight than others. There will be arm twisting in the nicest possible way.....

Honestly don't think Germany will be too bothered. They hold the upper hand, and could easily increase trade with others. Germany as a brand, has never been stronger.

You also forget that Germany wouldn't like anyone else leaving the EU, so why would they make it look easy?

Feel free to think that. But what signal is that sending to the rest of the world? You'll also still have to fulfill your responsibilities as a part of NATO.

Let me just flex my military muscles. Now trade with me!

So it's up to the nations, Germany, Spain, Italy France etc, to sort them out isn't it......
Are we back to German cars and French cheese again?

To avoid the cliff edge, they'll need to negotiate a transition period, which will need majority support, some Nations might see the opportunity to give it to the UK with aplomb.
