.......Joe Anderson already very concerned about the consequences of Brexit on Liverpool. I fear the EU is more of a friend to our city than Westminster.

Less of this please. The thread has been conducted in a very good manner despite the high emotions. Let's not let it slip.

Ok chief, apologies ;) ...Just can't stand that beaut anderson. Scaremongering, self-serving, hyper-reactionary that he is.

Weren't the EU invested in the new container port, bear that in mind. We'll be a lot better off than what he tries to scare us with.

We really won't. The North will be dumped on from up high now by the Tories completely off the reins.

Think it through logically - these are people proven to protect the rich when the economy tumbles. For a long time, basically all Liverpool received was EU funding. Manchester will be the symbolic city that gets away with it, but Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle etc. may as well give up now.

The tories are out, come the next election. Maybe sooner than we think.

It's that 'manchester gets the lot' attitude that saw manchester get everything. Nice one, hatton & mulhearn

...I find this difficult to believe until there is a viable opposition. I fear the best we can hope for is various shades of blue, especially with boundary changes and the likelihood of Scotland leaving.
