It wasn't even an opinion mate, genuinely asking and it has nothing to do with America. My question was about Scotland/NI wanting out of the UK, not the UK leaving the EU.
I think there's strength in working as a trading block, and the UK collectively provided that strength.
With this being said, I would not be surprised to see Scotland leave the UK and rejoin the EU because of the damage to the economy because of this decision over the next 5 years.

You can kiss goodbye to that

I'm today going to be starting plans for opening a business in Dublin.

No joke.

It's going to cause significant issues for me and American and non EU trade partners are not likely to be impressed. Even with a lower sterling.

They want continuity and certainty. This has reduced both.

Thanks mate.

Ah well I hear Dubai is nice this time of year.

As a filthy continental I am curious to see what will happen. My career prospects just got a lot better, as I work in finance and most likely many, many jobs will be moving to the continent.

I fear it will go very badly for you lot.

I'm not going to pretend to know much about this Brexit thing, but I said the same thing when the Scottish Independence vote happened..What's so terrible about countries wanting to be autonomous and have complete control of themselves?

Nothing, in a vacuum. The problem is businesses pulling their capital out of England because they don't want to take a bath on the falling currency, and that's what kills the economy. That wouldn't happen in Scotland because how many huge international firms have loads invested in Scotland? Plus if they stay in the EU they would just transition to the Euro.

Got your St George flag out yet mate?

Appreciate the reasonable response! That is a good point, however if Scotland and NI want to take the risk of losing that strength they should be able to (if they vote that way)

Think about what would happen if Texas seceded from the US.
