It is perhaps worth remembering who gains from the existing trade deals....

March%202017%20Trade%20with%20other%20European%20countries%20RB.jpg

Oh and it's also worth reminding ourselves that the trade deficit that we have run up with the EU is some £641Bn since the year 2000, having never once had a trade surplus.....and cost us countless Billions paying for the privilege......absolute madness.....

I don't understand the point you're trying to make. Why do you think a trade deficit is such a problem? And in any case, how do you think Brexit will address it?

Poor this Pete.

The cladding in question is banned here, in America, and Germany. Nothing to do with EU.

Nothing to do with the cladding Groucho. He was incorrectly making a point that we don't have a manufacturing base and that white goods all come from the EU. I pointed out that it was a white good that burst into flames and started the fire....I agree it was poor though.....

Yes. Multiple manufacturing industries actually. The two largest companies in their respective fields.

Shame you felt the need to use a national tragedy to point score on Brexit.

In Europe obviously, seeing as you say we don't have any manufacturing and all the decent goods come from Europe......

I agree with the second point though.....

So a trade deficit is not a problem, so using your logic therefore a surplus is not an advantage either, strange world. We currently run a surplus with non EU trade, trade which is already higher than that with the EU. The chart indicates those countries who have the most to lose, if no deal is put in place or if we go to WTO rules. My second point was that the EU have gained a surplus from the year 2000 of over £641Bn in trading with the U.K. and we paid in over £200Bn for the pleasure. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to escape this sclerotic straightjacket and spend our time and energies developing new opportunities, without having 27 other countries having a vote on it, while the EU can get used to the fact that we will be their largest export market in the world and perhaps they may wish it to continue in a sensible manner....

No.

And I don't think it's me they dislike, I think it's more likely pig headed, thick little englanders who treat their towns as an extension of their local pub or whichever backwater town centre they inhabit on a Friday night and behave like animals because they can't handle their ale and the sun.

...................

I actually agree with this......

I still cannot believe the uk is going ahead wuth brexit

its going to squeeze your entire economy and quality of living

International trade is a very delicate balancing act. Even with a decade of thorough forward planning brexit would be a massive risk. Winging it on the back of some political chancers who are making it up as they go is nothing short of idiotic.

Another one who appears to have the complete inside track 100% on everything connected with us leaving the EU.

Sheesh...!

Happy how its going?

I don't know how it's going, as I am not one of the Ministers or civil servants involved in the inside process, so I couldn't possibly comment on how things are going.

But there are some on here (perhaps yourself included) who seem to think that they know EXACTLY all that is going on, up to present, every day, and you know what that is? It's that little brown thing in the corner of a field full of animals that go moo...

I'll reiterate: no ordinary person in the UK has a clue as to how negotiations are going. Period.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

You lot are becoming a parody of yourselves now.

Leave it to the experts!

The same ones who said 'the people are fed up of experts'

You lot, all of you, have destroyed this country as an economic power, as a nation that people were lucky to be born in.

Luckily for you fellas, you'll be long gone by the time the shhh really hits the fan, so it will be us, and our kids, and our kids kids that suffer.

But at least you lot got what you wanted.

And @roydo your mate Foxy used to go out with Natalie Imbruglia! If he can persuade her To sleep with him I can see how he can persuade a load of people to actually vote for him so I take it all back!
