Everything is Corbyn's fault according to the PLP - though this, where his euroscepticism accurately represented the views of the Labour core vote and the main criticism of him seems to be that he refused to lie to the electorate, is one of the more absurd examples of the phenomenon.

I just hope he hangs on to the vote in the wider party, wins it, and the purges the PLP.

Just another step on the labour ladder to electoral oblivion... Trying to get rid of the leader who is actually in tune with the base of the party and the general mood of the country because he doesn't agree with the PLP...

Labour is probably about to lose a lot of its base to ukip in the north if they get rid of corbyn instead of allowing him to make a progressive case for socialism instead of merely being oppositionists to the Tories.

All evidence suggests that European migrants are more likely to be degree holders than the native population. They're also less likely to have dependents, hence why they are net-contributors to the treasury.

I said they were doing low-skilled work. Many migrants are well-educated, but that doesn't mean they are doing work commensurate with their qualifications.

From the summary report below :-

One million migrants in low-skilled jobs in 2013 have come to the UK within the last ten years.

Half of all migrants in low-skilled jobs have come to the UK since 2004. Half a million have come from Central and Eastern Europe, following EU enlargement in 2004 and 2007. Over 300,000 now working in low-skilled jobs came from Poland.

Some 289,000 migrants have come since 2010 to work in low-skilled jobs. Again, around half are from the EU accession countries, but almost one in six are from the EU15 countries such as Spain, Portugal and Italy, reflecting the relatively poor economic performance of the Euro zone economies and the resulting high unemployment.

Just over 100,000 came from non-EU countries.

Corbyn is not personally responsible for Brexit but, even as a lifelong Labour voter, I'm struggling to support Corbyn as leader. Whatever his policies, he's just not credible enough for the role and can't win a general election. Labour are goosed for the foreseeable

It is of course anecdotal, but I know quite a few A8 migrants that came to Britain with degrees but worked in low skilled work whilst they learned the language and then moved up the ladder. I would be willing to place decent odds that the social mobility of migrants is considerably higher than the native population as a result, certainly when comparing them to natives also in low skilled work.

This is what our next Prime Minister thinks of Livepool and Merseyside...

Well Done Britain

And people think billy connolly counts as entertainment...What does the current PM think of Liverpool?

Southern politicians (And especially tory politicians) despise Liverpool. Even Liverpool/Merseyside mp's don't like Liverpool but they've got a red rosette so they must be alright.

No-one likes us - we don't care.

We're out. Deal with it.

No, not really, and it's bizarre that anyone would think that was the case.

One of the reasons people will have voted to leave is because they're not happy about the number of EU workers coming into the country. There's been a bit of posturing about the effect of Turkey ( which, although a secular country by most definitions, has a predominately Muslim population ) wanting to join the EU in the future, but the argument's been more about "EU migrants taking British jobs and over-running hospitals and schools" than religion.

Good point mate.

However I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that it helped convince a majority of voters.

This is the anti-Corbyn argument that does my head in the most, to be honest. What does "credible" mean in this context?

It seems, based on who is deemed as credible, that they are the sort of person whose lies you would believe. That is not what Labour or the country needs.

Thing with what Boris Johnson famously now said about Liverpool.

As much as it was horribly bias and negative about us, it also paints a picture that the words was not what he believes but what the general train of thought was which has been echoed so many times over the years by similar minds.

So yeah by all means beat him his his own words, but they strike me more as a general point of view that was shared by so many based on steryotypes of the city rather than a personal direct attack on us.

Admittedly boris hasn't left a child in a pub to my knowledge but he leaves him well behind on gaffes and as you mentioned football he's someone who doesn't know who scored a hat-trick in 66 and you think Boris would take part in solid debate ?

A man of immense privilege who doesn't even really pretend to have a idea of how 99% live .

luciana berger didn't know who bill shankly was....didn't know there was two clubs in the city...but she's a good MP, apparently.
