Nice from Sadiq Khan:

"I want to send a clear message to every European resident living in London - you are very welcome here. As a city, we are grateful for the enormous contribution you make, and that will not change as a result of this referendum.
There are nearly one million European citizens living in London today, and they bring huge benefits to our city - working hard, paying taxes, working in our public services and contributing to our civic and cultural life.
We all have a responsibility to now seek to heal the divisions that have emerged throughout this campaign - and to focus on what unites us, rather than that which divides us."

"Joe Liff, 67, said he was very pleased by the result of the vote.

He was also concerned about immigration.

“The thing is, it’s like if you’ve got the Hilton hotel and a greasy spoon caff,” said the pensioner. “We’re the Hilton and Bulgaria’s the greasy spoon, so of course they all want to come here.”"

@DualityNSNO

All credit to Joe for being born in Britain. An inferior being would have been born in a poorer country.

Remember folks, no racism involved in the leavers deciding to leave.
I wonder how many Brits go live in Bulgaria, Poland, Romania every year and how many come here from those countries.

There is a massive imbalance and it could not be allowed to go on, we in this country have gone through 5 years of austerity to get the economy performing at the top of European countries table, it's not right anyone could hop onto a plane and come over reap the rewards of our efforts to restore our economy.

The people in this country are sick of it, and have spoken loud and clear, enough is enough, we can now be like the USA and Australia, cherry pick who we would like to come here, that's not racism, it's the correct way to run your countries immigration.

So has 52% of the UK been pseudo-recruited by ISIS? That is their aim you know, to make you scared to the point where you ostracise and make every Muslim feel like they are the enemy.

No, not really, and it's bizarre that anyone would think that was the case.

One of the reasons people will have voted to leave is because they're not happy about the number of EU workers coming into the country. There's been a bit of posturing about the effect of Turkey ( which, although a secular country by most definitions, has a predominately Muslim population ) wanting to join the EU in the future, but the argument's been more about "EU migrants taking British jobs and over-running hospitals and schools" than religion.

Corbyn is a lame duck and has been since his election, but I really don't think this is the time for Labour to have another leadership campaign - Corbyn was never going to make it until 2020 anyway.

Ideally, Labour need to let everything settle down, see who the next Tory leader is and then get rid of him.

Honest question. Why is it Corbyn's fault? The Tories used the referendum as a vote winner for the last election and Dave was unable to win, thus commiting political suicide. How is that Labours fault when they wouldn't have given the people the choice?

Roughly speaking, there are ~2 million EU migrants living in the UK and ~2 million UK citizens living in other parts of the EU. Granted, most of those UK citizens will be living in the more affluent EU countries, but it's hardly a massive imbalance.

It would be a massive generalisation to say that most EU migrants are doing low-skilled work whereas most UK workers in the EU are more skilled, but there's probably some truth in that. I guess what we'll find out in the next few years is whether or not the gap in low-skilled work that restricting EU migrants will bring will then be taken up by UK nationals.

I think the anger is about how Corbyn performed - the Labour vote was needed for 'Remain' to win.
