So have Liverpool mate.

You don't hear me sat here saying Liverpool have been dragged out and now should be independent.

Actually...
I wish we could but that's why Scotland will more or less go independent now and become a part of the EU without us. Northern Ireland possibly will too

That simply isn't true. There isn't a university in Britain that hasn't said during this campaign that they hugely support the EU because of the tremendous benefit it offers to their research efforts. Horizon2020 alone spends in the region of €80 billion on science and research across Europe.

OK so the EU has been an easy form of funds for Universities in recent years- mostly in terms of sifting money off towards the drug companies for research into medicines they then price out of the NHS market. In the times BEFORE the EU existed - our Universities were world leading in many aspects. They have been well run and funded before, and they will be so again. Perhaps less wastefully.

It's okay mate. I just genuinely did not know who to believe, who was right, who was wrong and what the knock on effects were going to be, despite trying my best to understand everything involved. I simply could not make a decision I could guarantee I would not regret, which is arguably me being responsible.

I have 100% forfeited my right to complain, I agree.

No worries mate ;) and glad you didn't take offence.

To be fair to you, if you chose not to vote because of the reasons stated, then fair enough... maybe there should have been an "Undecided" or "Cannot make an objective decision" voting option.

I was more aiming my comment at those who didn't vote cos they couldn't be bothered.

She can whistle for it, they had their chance, and it turned out very well for them looking at the price of oil.

Dragged out of the EU?

Scots voted to remain - knowing there was an EU referendum - knowing the process.

Surely they can challenge it now though.

If scotland voted overwhelmingly to stay in the EU and then suddenly found themselves outside of it then that is reasonable grounds for a second Independence vote if there ever once one.

i have no idea if scotland did vote in that way but you can easily justify it if they did.

and England without EU but scotland indpendant with EU would make our position quite difficult indeed.
