I'm sorry, but democracy really doesn't work like that.

I worry for it. I worry for us. I worry about the state of the world in 10 years time.

I hope I'm proved wrong, but alas - I can't envisage it.

I worry when Parliament votes overwhelmingly to give the people a referendum to determine whether we remain or leave the EU, then the losing side refuse to accept the result. This is the kiss of death to Democratic voting. All of the mealy mouthed 'but this and that wasn't on the voting paper' and 'they didn't know what they were voting for' excuses to try to reverse the result is quite frankly disgraceful. To have people like Clegg who proposed years ago to have a referendum and let the people decide on Europe, and his puppet replacement who refuses to accept the result but insists that there should be another referendum is hypocracy of the highest order. I have very little time for Corbyn but at least he has shown support for the democratic process, so far..........

i'll re-word it as we arent gonna agree on it, what will be their next target? EU has been such a big thing for the right for decades now..

Corbyn was also against it, so why define it as something concerning 'the right'. There are many left wing and labour supporting members on here who also want to leave and millions more who also voted to go. This is not a left or right issue......

yes, yes i know, talking more in parliamentary terms... there were vast amounts of the tories who were dead against the EU and caused issues in there parties for decades ...much more so than labour

prob go back to having a go at gypsies and single mothers?

It originated from the hard-right back benches of the Tory party, and the poor/working class were conned into thinking all their woes were caused by the scapegoat of foreigners, as perpetuated by the likes of Farage.

Idiots led the idiots down the rabbit hole.

I think you display your own prejudices...........

i am being somewhat obtuse....

do you reckon we will see a rock solid tory party for decades now then? i suppose we never know whats round the corner

what issues did they have pre-eu? i'm far too young to know...but you prob do :p

I've no idea. I don't like seeing overly dominant political parties, just look at Scotland. I want to see Labour regain some of its strength but it will have to have another revolution to do so. I prefer a proper balanced view and not the extremes of left or right......

I agree that Europe tortured the tories for years and before that it was things like dismantling the Empire, but now there will be an exciting period of growth that we haven't attempted for a long time. I'd love to be in my 20's again right now.......

they will be back once corbyn goes and starmer or jarvis becomes leader

ukip will dissappear i reckon(being out of the EU and having that clown nuttall as leader will see to that, farage had real charisma which none of their other members have)

scotland is a real tricky one...

Yep, once we are out UKIP will disappear. Scotland only have themselves to blame, the SNP are screwing everything up but seemingly getting away with it. I would be more than happy to see the back of them and their politicians, but we know they would be a basket case within 3 years and we'd have to help them out, again.......

they have captured the rebellious mood of the nation without actually doing anything useful...unfortunately it will take people a while to realise that they are pointless
