Correct, the question was not HOW, so why do you now raise it. I don't remember one single mention of HOW before the vote. So the electorate answered the question Remain or Leave as you state, and we voted Leave.

I like the way you trust politicians to act in the best interests of their constituents, but apparently do not trust them when they follow the verdict of a vote that they themselves gave to the people. Unbelievable......

Because now it is relevant because a non-binary referendum indicated that the country wants to leave, so it's then up to the politicians to decide the best way of doing it and not just hark back to the result of the referendum as the be all, end all of it.

It's negligence on their part.

And the politcians are addressing HOW! So what is the problem......we either do a deal in everyone's interests, EU/UK are covered, or we just leave in which only our interests will be financially covered via tariffs.......

May has unilaterally decided that the result was based on immigration though, so she's made free movement a red line.

That's merely her interpretation of what drove the result, it's political cowardice to put it at the head of our list of priorities to the undoubted detriment of the economy, and thus exactly what @Tubey says it is - negligence.

It's her job to ensure that she does what's best for the UK, not to pander to supposed populist opinion.

No they're not. There's no evidence-based decision making going on - instead we're just getting populist nonsense, with the finger pointed to a non-binary referendum as justification. It is lazy and ideologically led instead of being done on the basis of what is best for the country.

Do you really believe that from taking office in July and her speech at Lancaster House, that the government and the civil service have been doing nothing and not crunching the numbers for remaining and cutting us free. If for one minute you think that May and co are just blindly bumbling on without input from the treasury and the BoE and having taken soundings about future trade, WTO rules, etc etc, then you are naive.....why do you think the article 50 was not enacted immediately. If our options were not balanced in our favour there is no way the treasury would allow it to happen. What has really happened is that the government now has a firmer view of the opportunities, economic resilience, a developed negotiating stance and the confidence that we have far more cards to play than what was originally envisioned.....

A massive Google there Bruce no one mentions a hell of a lot on what the EU is prepared to negotiate with us it's not a one sided negotiation. We can ask for the world as the Cleggs the Farrons want you can amend the negotions all you want it's the final outcome is the main deal!
It's pointless putting in amendments on a white paper that the EU may just pur two fingers up to?
It's just a time wasting ploy!

What's cowardice is Diane Abbott throwing a sickie and not having the bottle to vote.........

I know we have been over this before should. Never have been allowed to be put to the masses far too complicated look at the house of commons the inmates have taken over the asylum
