Sad to see some of the abuse that has been hurled at a decent man.

The problem Bruce is that while he is almost certainly a decent man, and probably did a good enough job in normal circumstances, he has also shown himself not to be the right man for the tasks that will be required in our negotiations.....

Ok, so you don't know. Thanks for clearing that up Joe. I trust you'll refrain from criticising a man whose work you know nothing of in future.
bruce do you not understand the bit I googled no like you the google king?lol
Our PM aided by that ambassador came back with nothing to convince the UK people to vote remain Chamberlain esquique!
if you read the report I googled thats your answer and the outcome of the out vote ratified it!

Time will tell. Hubris and delusion are not desirable qualities in a leader either and so his comments about encouraging staff to speak up are surely right. He and his department were the boots on the ground, so to speak, so I'd imagine have considerable knowledge to impart that is not grounded in wishful thinking.

At times, it seems at the moment like Koeman shouting about Everton winning the league this year and dousing any among us slightly more grounded in the real world as naysayers and doom-mongers. People rightly criticised Martinez for having his head in cloud cuckoo land, and there's a very real risk of Davis, Johnson and Fox being exactly the same.

It may as well have been written in Mandarin I'm afraid. I didn't understand a word of it, nor how it pertained to my question.

Really Bruce the ambassador{not mentioned as DC took his advice} in that googled clip negotiated nothing who knows any success and the remain vote may have won read it again they came back with nothing, also what was upsetting - the bits they came back with had to be ratified by the Eu after the vote - i can remember DC getting a hard grilling over that point by a member of the public who likened him to Neville Chamberlain on a TV questions show !
- so all's he had in his locker was fear tactics Bruce, and lost!

The point is that his 'comments' should never have been made public and he has therefore shown himself to be untrustworthy on this issue. If I were May I would have got rid of him back in July.........

Well I don't know which media outlet you prefer, but I've never seen it presented that way. An incontrovertible victory for Leave, certainly, but there's never been any suggestion it was an overwhelming victory. Hence the persistent whining on the Guardian that the vote was not legally binding, didn't represent the view of the whole nation etc.

What percentage of financial services will we lose ?.......

I don't, nor have ever claimed to be knowledgeable when it comes to the inner workings of the financial services within the UK. I'm a Postgraduate Researcher in statistics and machine learning, but my better half is fairly well educated on the subject and from her I've gathered that one of the most likely outcomes from a complete cut from the free market will be that we'll look a lot less attractive as a country for financial services within Europe.

Failed? Where exactly was the failure there like?

He got most of what he went for.
How did the vote go LOST - then also what he got in a poor deal was not even binding only even if we voted remain it would have to be ratified back to the EU they could have reneged it -what a great deal that turned out to be!
a Major bungle as the only tactic he had to use then was FEAR!
