This is what i mean when i said lighten up. We had the vote and people chose what they wanted.

And nobody knows what will happen next, noone knows if it long term be a good or bad thing and no-one even knows who the next prime minister will be. By all means construct intelligant arguments on the matter but doom and gloom off the back of it?

I mean i'm not magic, this could affect me in a negative way as well in some capacity, i'm not looking for the negatives though straight afterwards
My vote was based on the future for my kids which in 10 years time they will be almost adults, i'm willing to struggle now (if it happens) for my kids future. Nobody knows if its the right decision or not only time will tell, but for me it was a risk worth taking. I don't know the ins and outs of politics in fact I don't think anyone does! there all con merchants in different colour ties. Looking at the way our country is now and a lot of other nations like France and Germany, I believe we have made the right decision at the right time.

the split vote in the UK is my biggest worry, the country is so divided...scotland,n.ireland,london on one side and the rest of england and most of wales on the other!

strange bedfellows!

It's a very odd mix, but not unlike the last General Election really....we will come together again.....

However we voted, we all now have more responsibility to ensure the London-centric spiv's don't turn the Nation into a polluted sweat-shop. We are going to be the sole custodians, with nobody else to blame.

Ireland will be fine.

Loads of Banks will potentially move their European Hq"s and trading floors to Dublin as it's the only English speaking place in the Single market.

You might even get your 6 counties back

Thanks but maybe we don't want them!!! :eek:lol I said this to my Orange East Belfast mate as long ago as 1987, and he was shocked!!

When the people in NI agree to live peacefully together they may all look to re-join a United Ireland, but in the meantime, we have enough troubles (mostly economic - albeit we are again growing very quickly) of our own to sort.

Think Scotland will split and bail to the EU, wouldn't be surprised if Ireland did the same (Despite the potential trouble). Leaving little England closed off with a Tory Government given free reign to do as they please, well done Britain, well done.

Wales voted for it.

Scotland is effectively gone now, matter of time. Probably Northern Ireland joined Rep. of Ireland as the reality of the decision hits home.

Don't look at the N.I outcome as a prediction for a United Ireland. The Unionists were split and some sided with Sinn Fein in the remain camp. They wouldn't be siding with them if the United Ireland question was on the table. Yes, Sinn Fein will waffle on about this but Ireland cannot afford us and Northern Ireland cannot afford a return to civil war.

Re @peteblue closing the door

I am not english. I do find it rather bizarre however that you are able to be so flippant about many of your countrymans' imminent loss of their livelihood.
you don't know the (Murdoch owned & Hillsborough libelling) Sun head line "If Kinnock (Labour) wins today, will the last one to leave Britain please turn off the light."

closing the door on immigration.

Pretty sophisticated post actually.

It depends on how bad the recession is, and the consequences of leaving overall. If Scotland leave (they will) and do well from it, NI will be tempted by the pragmatic nature of it.
