Why. For me the most important is that the EU doesn't provoke a war with Russia. I'd rather be poor than dead.....

Well that is a hypothetical opinion Pete. Which might turn out to be true.

You are/were a businessman. As was I. Sort of. Whatever someones political aspirations re building hospitals, 3rd runways, or free everything for everyone, a growing, vibrant economy is the only way that can be done. Long term.

That was the main reason why I (reluctantly) voted to stay. I hate the EU machine, but I like the single market more.

But perhaps with good reason. I get the impression that he has seen the reasons for various goverent decisions yet is unable to speak fully about them in public. It may not be the case, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were so......

I am bound by Section 2 of the Official Secrets Act 1911, subsequently superseded by the 1989 Act. Once signed, that binds an individual until their dying breath. There have been many cases of prosecution against individuals under the Act. Sarah Tisdall and Clive Ponting are two of the more well-known ones.

I like the idea of my granddaughter not being involved in a war and with a world view not centralised on a German controlled Europe. Even if we gave up the EU completely, which we won't , it's still only 10% or so of our GDP......it's not a financial Armageddon ......,

They'll melt if @Old Blue 2 swears at them long enough

HE IS VERY ANGRY

Nah, he's just a straight-talker.

But seriously, there have been points and counter-points made for several years now regarding the matter of jet fuel, the structural supports holding Towers 1&2, and what could/should have happened. And there are some seriously well-informed people from the chemical & building industry on both sides. Very interesting to hear both sides of the argument.

On the matter of Tower 7, no aircraft hit it. It was there for hours and then suddenly came down like a pack of cards. That's not a 'conspiracy theory', it's what actually happened.

Another thing that fascinates me, given my interest in aviation, is that on that day, given that the US air system identified rogue flights, not one US fighter was able to make an interception. This from what was probably the strongest air force at the time.

I thought so. I have a different but similar constraint regarding defence developments........

Probably not, as I am certain that the UK has the talent and stones to sort this mess out. But the cliff edge question, plus the lies from both sides, made my deeply suspicious of some of the motives behind the Out campaign.

The dice has been rolled. Just hope the machinations in Westminster/EU dont royally screw us, cos although annoying, the status quo before was not that awful.

Like many on here, I watched the unfolding events supposedly live on TV while talking to one of our company Presidents who was in his office in Washington when the Pentagon was hit. We both commented on where was the Air Force, what were they actually doing. It's been one of those questions never satisfactorily answered for me.......

And I agree. The status quo before may not have been that awful, but now we have the first step to an EU army, there were already plans in place to expand further the EU together with immigration and our yearly fee was only going to rise. It was never going to be a status quo.....

It (the status quo) wasn't that great for those with less income or prospects IMO. Hence the vote for Brexit.

This really is one of the big issues. The elite and wealthy in the cities were more than happy to bring in the cheap labour. Ditto the really big food producers and delivery firms. A lot of us, me included, have never been affected by immigration, and may only see it as a benefit. But for those who have been directly affected, having lost jobs, omitted from jobs, had the culture of where they live irreparably changed, it's a massive issue which the wealthy seem to ignore........,
