Perhaps you should read what I said more carefully. I am saying one of the reasons for such conditions in the NHS is the absence of suitable social care. Social care can be preventative thus reducing costs further down the track. So for example if we had better social care provision mental health patients may find it easier to cope, be less likely to require expensive medication, have substance abuse problems and further physical deterioration caused by depression etc.
Better tax collection, a robust corporation tax structure, prioritising health and social care more in government budgets, stopping vanity projects like HS2 and remaining in the Single Market could all go to stopping the type of situation Joey's family and thousands of others are now facing.
All good points Mate, but why oh why were they not initiated decades ago. BTW I feel very much for Joey, let me tell you something. I spent nearly 10 years continuous in a hospital when I was a very young child and still have the consequences so I do not need other misfortunes brought to my attention.
