If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.
If heat records are news then why aren't cold records? Is it because the extreme of cold also supports all current theories of global warming as is therefore not news?

A cold record in the coldest part of the earth isn’t as shocking as a heat record though is it?If heat records are news then why aren't cold records?
People stopped calling climate change 'global warming' about a decade ago because it was incorrect to only focus on the heat. But to answer your question, I would guess that its more likely to make headlines because heat tends to accompany severe weather systems; storms, droughts and wildfires. If heat records are news then why aren't cold records?
Just because you don’t read it doesn’t mean it isn’t thereIn fairness the coldest Antartica winter on record is a substantial record to have been broken regardless of what it means for climate change, if the warmest day ever in Antarctica is major news happened last February then why isn't the coldest 6 month period on record major news? Media trip over themselves to report warming.. is a bit of unbiased reporting too much to ask?
Would generally say they are recorded and reported as well to be honest. If heat records are news then why aren't cold records?
The hottest places on earth aren't the equator and yes the hottest places on earth do make the news when records are broken.. Australia, Turkey, India Spain, Italy, Southern States of the US, Mexico and a number of Middle Eastern countries have all made major news due to heat.A cold record in the coldest part of the earth isn’t as shocking as a heat record though is it?
Do heat records at the equator make the news?
I thought the hottest places on Earth were generally between the tropics rather side of the equator? The hottest places on earth aren't the equator and yes the hottest places on earth do make the news when records are broken.. Could not make these idiot's up. Myself switching off the news while this is on, tedious saturation of waffle and who wants to listen a bunch lobbied mass debates...This Cop26 thing is about to cause major disruption in central Scotland with the attendant increased pollution and that.
Why can't they stay in their respective countries and do a big zoom or something?
The hotels and b&bs would miss out mind you.
I'm getting a bit peeved with being ticked off by well-scrubbed twelve-year-olds too. There's another one come out the woodwork lately - no doubt egged on by pushy parents.Could not make these idiot's up. It'll be interesting as the heavy rain has resulted in the train links to Glasgow being all up the spout. This Cop26 thing is about to cause major disruption in central Scotland with the attendant increased pollution and that.

Nice ad hominem like, but we are trashing the world, and it will stop at some juncture. The question is, do we adapt and limit the damage, or do we carry on aiming for infinite growth in a finite world and destroy ourselves with it ?Joanna Lumleys rationing suggestion was interesting. She has already visited almost everywhere on earth so she probably can cope with limited trips now.

Right, yeah, they will certainly try that anyway, whether it's a natural limitation on resources or self imposed.I don't trust elites to not fly though. They'd get round it by saying it's for 'work'. It would essentially be a ban on the working class.
