In fairness adding new runways to the two busiest airports in the country right by a densely populated city isn't overly controversial. Air travel is not going to stop overnight.

Just as a comparison China plan to build another 150 airports in the country by 2035.

They need to improve the engines etc but air travel will be required for centuries moving forward.

“isn’t overly controversial”? Heathrow expansion is massively controversial and has been for years

I was up Glasgow at the weekend and just have to say, never seen anything so ridiculous on my life. Cannot get around anywhere. Roads closed, Loch Lomond like a scene from a mass murder as half of the car parks shut down. No fly zones etc etc etc. Waste of time this whole thing. Utter farce.

Zoom isn't a panacea for meetings, you know? The cloud computing that powers these platforms is also not without emissions. Just saying.

It'd be interesting to see how many Zoom meetings it'd take to offset just Air Force One flying from the US to Rome to Glasgow alone.

But then again, who cares - all of this is blatantly a complete waste of time.

Greenpeace reckons cloud computing will chew through 20% of global electricity by 2025.
