China is by far the biggest carbon polluter with the USA in second place the USA incidentally emits half what China emits and is reducing its output while China India Russia are increasing carbon emissions. It is telling which countries didn’t attend the environmental summit in Glasgow.
Why do we buy the plastic junk these polluters produce, do our Christmas festivities depend on these goods ?
I always wondered how we have this big trading dispute with our Euro neighbours and we can’t sell goods to them and likewise bcs we now havnt got a Trade Agreement but in practice everything we seem to buy in this country and probably Europe comes from China India Vietnam Indonesia etc, all countries outside the EU and that have no apparent concern for emission controls or regulated labour laws,
I myself am going to try and boycott goods from these countries a drop in the ocean gesture I’m sure but I think it’s the right thing to do.

Easy to avoid stuff from the US tbh as they don't actually make as much as you would think but good luck trying to boycott Chinese stuff, so much stuff comes from over there and even if you can Chinese components are in a lot of other things. Some sources/people say it's not possible to avoid Chinese goods.

I think you can avoid them but nowhere near altogether boycott them. As you say they are involved in so much like African minerals, components , investment in foreign countries, shipping and transport, to name but a few and I heard they virtually own Americas national debt
As I say my gesture a drop in the ocean.

I actually Heard someone from the protest group on the Radio the other day saying it’s their policy not to make any complaints to police in relation to any assaults on them or to otherwise cooperate . Any prosecutions the police make independently is obviously a separate matter .

I know for a lot of people, these "insulate Britain" protesters are a pain in the arse, but I think one day, if I have grandkids, these people will be revered!

In fairness the coldest Antartica winter on record is a substantial record to have been broken regardless of what it means for climate change, if the warmest day ever in Antarctica is major news happened last February then why isn't the coldest 6 month period on record major news? Media trip over themselves to report warming.. is a bit of unbiased reporting too much to ask?

Correct. Warmer average climates can still mean colder snaps. Short term changes in whether can still happen.

Climate change is about increases in average temperature and disruption of natural weather cycles.
