It's an embarrassment to the man. Like @Kaiser Soysauce I've been through something like this. I had a 10month court battle just to get to see my son when he was 2yrs old...
Now, some 14years later, I'm still held to ransom by a bloody woman who has even felt it appropriate to involve the Texas Attorney General - this in spite of the fact I've paid month in month out exactly what I was paying when I was in the UK, but the thought of getting even an extra $10/month was enough for her to start proceedings over here in the US, even though she and said child live in the UK.
Then I look at my own sister - two kids by two different fathers, (one has since sadly passed away - the father that is), none of whom have paid anything for their kids - self employed innit, fiddle their books and reduce their liability.
Now, I'm of the opinion that those two (like our temporary adopted striker) are clearly scum. The child didn't ask to be born and we as father's have a duty to provide for our children. Just pony up, be a man and take care of your own.

Don't remember Rom,Ross, stones, osman, mcgeady, McCarthy,Howard, kone, Hibbo not supporting their children.
The way we treat our players is a joke.

Valencia was just another for the boo boys before this news cane out.
He deserves shovel fulls of abuse for neglecting his child's upbringing. Not like he's busting himself on a building site is it? He isn't fit to wear our jersey.

Having a moan at a player for not performing is one thing, but equating that to living a millionaire lifestyle while ignoring your own child is just wrong.

Unless you know the full story he really doesn't. It has got nothing to do with any of us.

Just because he is a footballer doesnt mean he doesnt have a right to deal with his personal business away from the snarling public.

I agree with the right to privacy for footballers as much as any occupation. In this case it has been publicised that he has failed to support his child and that type of story would be in the public interest.

We don't KNOW that though. That's the problem. All we know is that he is being chased up over something. Perhaps the mother is taking the pee. Who knows?

I wouldn't give stick to someone who worked in a shop or something about it. I would have my own thoughts on the whole thing but stuff like this to me is a very personal matter and I dont think he is fair game just because he is famous.

I didn't say he was fair game because he was famous. That sort of hierarchy is irrelevant when it comes to basic morals like supporting your child.

He was run off the pitch by the cops, it's unlikely that they have no grounding for this. It is embarrassing for the club to have this associated with it, he should be sent back to London as quickly as possible.

Its still not embarrassing for the club in any way shape or form. Its just not. It has got nothing to do with the club.

The hierarchy obviously is relevant because stuff like this happens all the time and the "normal" people wouldnt be getting abuse off people who dont even know him and certainly without actually knowing anything about the situation.

He represents the club, he is highly paid by the club, the club sell jerseys with his name on the back. It's embarrassing by association.

Hierarchy is irrelevant. I wouldn't want him serving my Chang nevermind putting the jersey on.

None of us can really comment on his personal life, I mean there is a sad, a funny and a frustrating side to all of it that really has no bearing on Everton, other than some tabloid page filler. What really annoys me is he is not making headlines with his scoring. Makes you wonder what the club is actually paying him to do, (obviously not to help pay his child support).

They certainly could have no justification in chasing him the way they did. Was this in America? Enough said, although it could easily happen here. The morals in a case like this are rarely 'basic'....are large number of marital/relationship disputes are common were both parties use the kids as pawns in the game.Unless we know the full, 'basic' facts in this case(and I doubt we ever will) we will need to rely on media reports, which are basically couched in terms that will sell newspapers or get viewers.

Not really sure what has gone on here with Valencia but it is proper embarrassing for him and Everton. Surely now is the perfect excuse to F him off back to West Ham?
