Seems utterly bizzare to me that they’ve publicly announced that they are working with the theory that he’s survived on a raft and just hasn’t been found

Well, the other options would mean he's in relative safety or deffo dead, no?

Picked up by a boat = safe
Landed elsewhere on land = safe
Plane smashed into water = dead

Drifting on lifeboat = possibility of finding him alive

So I guess that's why they prioritised that as they did.

In a way, I hope it’s some kind of Insurance Scam.

Not that they need it, but would be such w horrible way for someone to go. Got their dream move to the Premier League, to then have it snatched away, in such cruel circumstances.

No way can a plane just go “missing”. It’s mystifying. There has to be w trace of it somewhere surely?

Might be too early for theories but isnt it weird that the plane was owned i read by the agent, who booked the flight, but didnt get on the flight?

As for finding it, I've read about a few that have never been found, Glenn Millar was one

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, if it's gone down relatively intact but they've been incapacitated (on conscious etc.), then a plane of that type will soon go down.

The engine at the front will quickly stand it up and it'd end up going down by the head. If I am honest, it will probably be at the bottom of the Channel by now.

If it's broken up, then parts will have gone to the bottom and other parts would easily be miles - potentially hundreds - from any site that it crashed in heavy storms.

Trying to find the debris in a choppy channel won't be easy either because of the swell. Maybe I'm a realist (comes with the job) but it's no longer a rescue!

I mean not one person had seen an explosion or anything, there’s no debris or anything... surely, a plane travelling with such impact and with gas must make some kind of explosion?

Not that I’m an expert, but surely it can’t just hit the water, and not submerge without even the slightly big of damage or struggle to cause to rise and subsequently be found by one of many vessels?

If I am honest, it really all does depend on a number of factors whether a plane will remains intact when crash landing, and in this instance landing in water.

You've got the speed and angle of descent, the structure of the plane (position of the engines is important) and whether the pilot can facilitate a 'smoother' landing.

It can go from very small damage to the fuselage, sheering of the engines from wings or fuselage (it's in the fuselage in this plane) to completely breaking up.

You might get a fire caused by aviation fuel spillage but it's not as likely as you would think. Massive explosion? That's the movies, mostly.

There is only one lifeboat looking from sea level, and several planes, apparently. If you have ever been at sea in a modest sized boat, (like a lifeboat), in even a modest swell, you would literally have to bump into a bit of wreckage to find it.

And if you chopped up a plane this size, then lobbed it in the channel, then tried to find bits of it just a day later, you would need lots of luck. They have been looking for 3 days now.
