"We squeeze our orange as hard as we can and then go back and do it again" - Elstone revealing the club's financial masterplan.

Jesus wept.

Moyes said the Lescott deal was close to 25 million.

I can't see how we've spent all of that plus five million on three players. Jo's loan fee was obviously mega bucks.

We also got around four players off the wage bill, two of which where on big money for a club of our size.

Thats pretty much the same hyme sheet I've got infront of me...

Baffling.

I supose if you look at it in minute detail it probably adds up:

The Senior players we signed:

Billy - 8-10
Distin 5-6
Heitinga 6-7
Jo loan fee can be anything from 500K - 1.5mill (I guess maybe this was deducted from the Lescott fee, less Wolves sell on clause prob is about 20 mill hard cash).

The young players

Mustafi
Coleman
Garbutt
Peterlan
Annoux
Femi

New Contracts: Ossie, Jags, Hibbert, Rodwell, Baxter, Wallace, Duffy etc.

Kirkby stuff they touched on: loud and clear that they would struggle badly to fund any stadium given the go ahead. Elstone was sweating like a glass blower's arse trying to do the sums. All the eggs are in the naming rights basket because they'll never get the sale they need for Bellefield and the club cant sell Goodison for retail purposes which is the real money spinner. "Technology park and brewing sponsorship". Dear me. Barel being scraped there. Unless they have an investor lined up that all looks fanicful.

PMSL at Cannon: desperate to get Everton to Knowsley - the borough he's pimped business for in the past.

What i hadnt considered before mate and Cannon touched on was that if Kirkby was selected for a World Cup - its is potentialy a massive money spinner in terms of naming rights - not only is it advertiseing in the most watched leauge in the world - possibly European exposure, but also in the worlds premier compitition - used probably in billions of mediams of media throughout the world.

That may be worth potentialy a hell of a lot of wedge.

Personally speaking, I thought Elstone was having a bit of a dig at GOT members, when he talked about people who took the opportunity to whinge when the fees were "undisclosed" and then did figures on the back of *** packets assuming what those "undisclosed" fees were. Obviously hit a nerve there...

To get back to safer political debates, I thought I heard Cannon referring to Real Madrid's fascist Falangist past rather than the Royal family connection, Dylan. Or maybe that was my manic-leftie hearing aid playing up there.

***Added I see Danny's using a US swear filter***

May well have been. I thought I heard 'Franco', but whatever he said it is definately shady and unhealthy.
