I just don't get all the cloak and dagger stuff with Everton. We are for sale, yet no one has taken us over, now all the money we have acquired/spent. Why cant we just get straight honest answers.

It may be parties are interested and if that is the case then nothing will be done until the future of where we are going to play is sorted out. You'd be a fool to buy a business when such an important aspect is up in the air currently. Other reasons might be the culture that has arisen or something to do with the odd relationships rival companies pose in football compared to a normal business.

Also just a quick point on the Lescott deal, we paid Wolves £240,000 from what we received from City. I know this as fact as a very good friend of mine Pat Mountain works for Wolves as goalkeeper coach. He's from Cardiff and I've known him for about 15 years so i take what he has told me as the truth.

I'd be suprised if it was less than 10% which would be at least £2m.

Everytime anyone with clout at Everton mentions Kirkby I just want to cry . It feels my very soul with sorrow and despair .

Hold on though, the WC is only at the bidding stage...never mind the selection of a ground in Kirkby as a destination!! Cannon's point was pathetic. Projecting ahead like that might be how he earns his corn advising the gullible and plain stupid, but it wont wash when c ash needs to be put on the table when Everton have to ante up to pay for a stadium fit out in the here and now.

True mate, but you can bet your ass it will be part of any pitch! To be fair if it was something the club didnt follow up i guess a few would be moaning about it to - its an oppurtunity nothing more at this stage, but nicely coincides with the Englands pitch to Fifa in Dec and the [Poor language removed] not looking like a stadium suitable for a World Cup pitch will be in the offing by then, we have a clear feild if England (which is likely) host and Liverpool (and i use that term loosely) is chosen as a host City - hypothetical if you will - so very much belongs in this debate.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and call him a liar.

Common sense dictates that we didn't spend the Lescott money and also struggle to understand how we have an additional £3m on the wage bill.

Lets get our calculators out.

Lescott £24m

Bily £7 to £10m
Distin £5m
Heitinga £6/7m on appearences

£10+£5m+£7m = £22m max.

So weres this extra £7m he claims we have spent on transfers?....

Elstones starting to get right on my tits.

Signing on fees and agents fees aswell !!! Plus some of our players have negotiated new contracts, that requires agent aswell.

Spending £8m above the money Everton recouped for Lescott on transfers is quite frankly underwhelming.

It's amazing we all have such high expectations every season because Everton isn't even financially geared to qualify for the Europa League.

It's about time Everton Football Club stop the status quo and give our manager exactly what he wants and deserves. Moyes knows what he's doing and should be given a greater say with regards the Club's expenditure.

Moyes has bridged the gap between Everton and the SKY FOUR, but the hierarchy are pushing Everton back rather than forward.

Kenwright should do the honourable thing and sell up and not look for an investor but an owner. It's starting to get like Doug Ellis now. :(

It's actually 5 million mate, the other 3 million is increases in the wage bill. We must have got our sums pretty close last week in the Heitinger on 55k thread when we took out Wolves cut and counted in a loan fee for Jo and other signing on costs.

You make it sound like the club have millions hidden under the mattress and simply aren't letting Moyes spend it. I dearly wish some people would look at the annual report before making statements such as this. If they did they might appreciate that as a club we make diddly. No profit for new players.

As for the % of the Lescott deal we've spent, it seems an odd position some here take. We seem so certain of our own facts, reported to us through the media (reliable lot that they are) and based on this assumption we therefore regard Elstone (who presumably is privvy to all the facts) as being some sort of shithouse porky teller. As an act of sound reasoning it seems somewhat lacking to me.

If we're starting to value the integrity of journalists more than our own club then we really are in a sorry situation.

We seem to have forgot that we have signed some good young players to who werent free: Femi, Garbutt, Mustafi and the American kids.

We offered permenent contracts to the likes of Baxter, Wallace, Rodwell and Duffy that could account for the jump in wages.

Jo's loan feen both in Jan and Jun also probab;y is taken in to account if thats in and around 1.5 mill thats 3 mill for a start.

The point I was making is the manager, his backroom staff and the players on the pitch have achieved so much. Off the pitch the board have not matched this.

Moyes made the public plee for more funds (excluding the Heitinga deal which was in the pipeline at that point) to the media after the Wigan game... He didn't get it. And we missed out on (yet another) hire purchase, I mean loan signing.

Foreign billionaires buy British Club for their heritage and tradition (Notts County is the oldest Club in the world), which Everton has in abundance. Let's face it Kenwright is the obstacle. Only a fool would think that no-one is interested in taking over the highest placed Club outside the SKY FOUR over the last 5 years which is still bankrolled by pound sterling.
