He’s pointing at a genuine problem here, about the levels distrust in media, but the answer here is more transparency about sources, openness about funding, more acknowledgment of inherent bias, and more serious punishments where media gets stuff wrong.

His, and the typical ‘red-pilled’ folk’s answer is to throw the baby out with the bath water, and treat everyone and no-one as legitimate sources of information, despite the fact that more independent media can suffer from all the same problems as MSM, but without the level of scrutiny or accountability, and no institutions to govern them or hold them to account.

5:40AM and Elon is away to google what Tortious Influences are and whether they can force people to pay him to advertise on Twitter
And this is the guy who he is taking legal advice from and replied to multiple times, this isn’t going to reassure advertisers one little bit.
Thomas J. Fitton is an American conservative activist and the president of Judicial Watch. Fitton is known for pro-Trump commentary.[1] Fitton is prominent for criticizing Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 United States presidential election; he has said that the investigation was a "coup" against U.S. President Donald Trump and called for it to be shut down.[2][3] In 2022, researchers found Fitton was the third-most prolific purveyor of election misinformation on Twitter during the late months of 2020.[4]

Hang on.
So app is free.
App is funny but also full of negativity.
Rich Man buys free app for far too much money.
Decides to charge for elements.
Decides to add or remove restrictions to align with his own ideology and views.
People moan.
App use is a choice, so people can decide not to use.
App popularity reduces, and rich man investment is reduced.
Isn't this just populist capitalism, grifting on controversy and attention to make short term buck, that people can choose to ignore.

What even is life anymore.

So, you think people are over reacting?

On the one hand you point out that the richest man in the world overpaid for a platform so he could align it with his own ideology and views,
and on the other you say just don't use the app and he'll go away.

Kinda like the Sun after it was boycotted...

What's happening is dangerous (IMHO)

He comes across as a damaged and nasty piece of work.
totally,
I don't think I've ever done such a 180 about take on someone.
I remember his reaction to that Thai rescue and thinking 'that's a bit strange but look at all the innovation...'
Then gradually more and more lunacy (apt) start creeping through
to the point now where he seems like a scorned toddler with an unstoppable ego.

His bird swerving him for a trans-woman didn’t help either.

Not at all.
Didn't say people were overreacting, also didn't suggest if you don't use the app he'd go away?

But everyone has a free choice to continue to use it. It isn't mandatory.

Just don't get the fuss, the only person this should be a big deal for is him.

Everyone else can just swerve it if they like.
