You're misconstruing first amendment rights in the US with a private company moderating content on its platform. There are responsibilities with free speech. Anything else is just nihilism.

It is his company now but advertisers are also free to walk away, without that revenue there is no company.
Don't really see how me saying I believe in free speech is misconstruing anything? I made no reference of the first amendment. But I do think that you can't compare social media companies to any private company. They are their own beast. We saw with the pressure on them to do something about 'fake news' that they have to have an element of social responsibility. The reason why the moderation has got so heavy-handed on there is in part because of outside pressure in the first place. Obviously everyone just has different opinions on what the social responsibility it has should be.

In terms of your latter point Twitter has already been struggling with monetising itself, the advertising is already not really doing it, so clearly there are going to be big changes that need to be made to the platform if they want to pursue being profitable. I do believe a lot of people are put off from using Twitter because of the way it is now, so just getting more people on there would be a start.
