Transfer Rumour Eliaquim Mangala

He's a left-footed centre back who's big, strong, relatively fast and is decent in the air

He's been poor when I've seen him for City, but like everyone else he gets a clean slate until I've seen enough of him in a royal blue shirt

Quite apart from anything else, it would be difficult for him to be as bad as Williams and Keane have been at times this season

Today's pairing of Keane and Mangala could be horrible TBH, but they're both mid 20s and, at some point in their careers, have been highly rated - let's wait and see

I respect your opinion mate but disagree.
Holgate has done absolutely nothing to warrant the above.
He's not even been able to cement a place in a squad including Ashley Williams. He's not played a full season in a set position.
Keane is having a wobble but for Burnley he was outstanding thus proving he can do it.

It may be a wobble but it’s worrying I thought we were buying an aerially dominant centre half who could dominate, particularly towards the end of premier league games when many teams go long & set pieces both of which we have struggled with for a number of years.

However when he is challenged for high balls he is easily bullied physically. The Leicester game when ndidi hit the bar the ball was relatively floated & was begging for a dominant centre half to get up and smash it clear instead he looked frightened and then was beaten physically by a 20 year old who
Hasn’t filed out yet.

I’ve also lost count of the amount of times he gets himself side on when players are running at pace towards him & they simply drift past him whilst he sticks a leg out.

The technical flaws should have been ironed out years ago. He must okay in a team that sits deep when he attacks everything coming at him rather than having the forward touch tight with crosses from the side but it’s going to take a massive improvement. He is only 25 so has time but I can’t see it.

City dominate possession in most of their games. Attacks from the opposition are therefore relatively rare.

We, on the other hand, give possession to the other side, and are under pressure for most of the game.

The change will come as a shock to Mangala, and the constant pressure will magnify any faults he may have as a defender.

having a wobble? he's been terrible for half a year. holgate has been head and shoulders ahead of him this season.

Fingers crossed this turns out like Traore loan and he’s never to be seen again
Yes because Williams is so much better isn’t it! Both as bad as footballer as each other but at least there is a bit more power and pace with Mangala...let’s hope it’s not a bad one and hopefully back in a few weeks. He walked off by himself so a bit of luck he will be ok

He got pushed off the ball in the first 10 minutes, quite easily I may add
