Transfer Rumour Eliaquim Mangala

Mangala was at fault on the 1st, but so was Williams. Williams just stood there, picked up no one. The player was in the center of the pitch, Mangala was still on the left. Williams did nothing.

Williams lost the headers on the 2nd BADLY and Mangala didn't react either. The third...Morgan just lets a player go right by him with all sorts of time and space on the 18, and Williams deflects it in.

Thought Mangala made the right decision on the 4th, he was clearly offsides.

The 5th, Mangala didn't step up and Morgan was loafing of course, so a player was wide open in the box.

I've never seen defenders like this. They don't react to players, they don't know how to mark players, they show no commitment, they have no athleticism, it's pathetic.

First goal. Mangala and Ramsey start together in front of goal. As they run back, Mangala leaves him alone in front of goal. The cross beats Martina, Williams and Mangala. Ramsey scores.

The second goal comes from a corner. Mustafi beats Williams to the first header. Koscielny leaves Keane. Aubameyang leaves Mangala. Both are waiting to score at the far post.

The third goal. Schneiderlin is marking Iwobi who passes to Ramsey running in unmarked. Perhaps Gana should have been marking the space. Mangala has to come out. He deflects the shot in, but is not to blame for the goal.

The game was effectively over after 19 minutes. I don't blame Williams and Keane more than Mangala.

The fifth goal. Calvert-Lewin loses possession. Ramsey again runs in unmarked, this time perhaps Schneiderlin should have been in the space.

He’s a jarg yard dog who’ll have a couple of outstanding games but cost you a shed load of goals

He was an embarrassment today, losing players and his lacklustre effort to even close down anything was shocking

Send him back in May and thank Stevie boy for another marvellous addition

Aside from the aberration that was Glenn Keeley, Mangala was possibly the worst debut from a centre back I have ever seen.

Wonder what he thought after the first 20 minutes having to defend more in that time than he has in all his City games this season combined. I actually think he and Holgate might be a good pairing and let us play a bit higher up once he settles. He was bad though. Really bad.

I think he showed some promise, but was also culpable for multiple goals.

But lets be honest, he never should have been put in that situation by the manager, he had 3 days to train and meld into a formation we dont even play. He was set up to fail as was the entire team.

Add to that. they "didn't have time to train" and so "watched a video of the Swansea game so our defenders could copy theirs"

AMAZING

Has anyone ever seen this fella have a good game? Genuine question. I honestly don't remember him being anything other than poor when I've watched him play

Exactly. No idea what it is about our last few managers. Instead of playing a team that only won and performed well recently, they somehow deem it safer to play 7 defensive players, who have barely played with each other before, in a system we never play, but in which we get mercilessly bummed when we do

Thank you - I haven't seen the team yet. But that sounds very strange.

BFS has always had the reputation of relying on dead ball kicks for scoring opportunities. I wonder what our tactics are for today.

Now we know. Mangala in an untested back three with Williams and Keane, 'protected' by Gana and Schneiderlin. Martina and Kelly as wing backs. Bolasie and Walcott on the wings and Niasse at centre forward.

It didn't work - it never could work. BFS seems to have lost all touch with reality. And not long ago he was appointed England manager!

I can understand why Coleman was rested, but not both Rooney and Sigurdsson. There will be changes for Crystal Palace! Will we play any better? I just don't know. But we can't go on like this.

I say it every time he has a horror show, but hopefully that's the last we see of that cart horse bellend Ashley Williams. Some captain eh, Aubameyang scores from a metre offside and the centre back captain standing next to him doesn't even bothered questioning the decision to allow the goal.

Keane is rubbish so forget about him. Jagielka actually displayed against Leicester that he can still put in a shift. I'd be going with Holgate and Jagielka until the end of the season and Mangala left back.

Failing that, as Martina apparently is the Curaçaoian Roberto Carlos in Allardyce's eyes, go with Holgate and Mangala.

Coleman should now be given a run in the side after being rested yesterday.

Coleman Holgate Jagielka Mangala for me.

Schneiderin should never pull on our shirt again. Davies needs to take his place, and Bolasie should be put in the under 10s side and never given a game again. Even if he's out of position, please play Sigurdsson there, and Rooney in centre midfield with Gueye.

I don't get what is so hard about playing this....

Pickford
Coleman
Holgate
Jagielka
Mangala
Gueye
Rooney
Davies
Walcott
Sigurdsson
Tosun / DCL / Niasse

Seriously, I don't get paid six million a year but I know that'd get us more points that the sides Allardyce is sending out at the moment.
