Always so hard to judge from the outside this

Like for example, to us, someone like Sigurdsson seems almost meek, shy etc., yet Carlo has selected him has captain loads of times. Weird one

Pretty simple: who's your choice to take over as Captain for the 2021/22 season? Seamus is no longer a guaranteed starting XI player so it's time for a fresh face.
Should be Delph. He claims to be a great influence in the dressing room. He is rubbish on the pitch when he hobbles on every so often, but his ego pervades the entire ground.

I'd have Godfrey: Put him in place of Digne . Digne is finished. Get Allan back asap. Last week we were
kicked off the pitch against Newcastle all our players were like Big Girls. Get Godfrey & Allan together and
let's have a bit of bite.
Digne is finished? Agree on the bite but one bad game ....Without Digne there is virtually zero for DCL

Could be a position on the pitch thing

Pickford. Might make him mature a bit and stop him being a fanny.

Or

James, might make him play in December. No harm in giving him extra responsibility and having him as the face of the club.

All academic anyway Seamus is going nowhere this summer unless Celtic fancy him for a season or two.

Jarrad Branthwaite, having return to us victorious and ready to go after his successful loan deal.

To be honest, they are all pretty much a bunch of soppy schoolgirls and there's not a true leader among them, but I have chosen Michael Keane as 'the best of a bad bunch' type of thing.

If you cannot see he is a confidence player from previous then you must have your head in the sand pal.

So, it could be argued that by giving him the armband it will give him a boost of confidence?

He doesn't seem a shrinking violet so doubt giving him the captaincy will work negatively.

Finally, my head must be in the sand, I think he is a bit of fighter to be honest. Made to play with a massive injury a few years ago, gets his head down and tries his best and comes out of that debacle a better and stronger player.

Yes it could be argued. It is possible and it is also possible he will find it too much. Only my opinion from what I have seen previously from him is that his confidence has been delicate. I currently like him as he is and wouldn't want any other responsibilities to hinder his confidence. Just don't think he is built for captaincy myself but I could be totally wrong. I am a don't touch what is not broken type of fellah. Just wouldn't want to risk it with him.

Fair points all around, I do disagree and think he would make a good captain. Only time will tell, Ancelloti really rates him so would not be surprised if he was the next team captain with Coleman still having a club captain role as his appearances dwindle into 100% backup territory.

Only time will tell, if that is to be the case :)
