I was just checking my Fantasy premier league team. They have Luis suspended until the 19th of May. So the decision has already been made?

I'm inclined to agree to an extent. Even if they did sell Suarez, they'd get £30/40m, all of which Rodgers would get to plough back into the team. Let's not forget they only have Suarez because they sold Torres for a ridiculous amount of money.

Brennan is right though, they'll never win the league without paying City/Chelsea money. Liverpool spend a hell of a lot, more than most. But they're still behind City & Chelsea. Every year they're not in the CL they fall further behind. And FSG have already showed they're simply not going to be the type of owner that throws money at the problems on a continuous basis.

They'll always be top 7, but it would take major investment to be top 4 again, and massive investment to ever be serious title challengers again.
