It's gets better from him......on Stevie G.....

"“Look at his contribution in the two years that I’ve been here. Steven was 32, had struggled with injury, hadn’t played consistently over a number of years, and I came in, sold him the idea and the philosophy of how we wanted to work and his importance to it. In that period, he has been absolutely outstanding and of course maybe the team hasn’t played so well this year, and maybe there’s a focus on Steven, but he’s been absolutely brilliant for me."............Brenda is priceless, I hope he's there for another 15 years........

Hahaha so now Sterident is trying to make out that Gerrard was a washed up crock before having the privilege of seeing his philosophy lol

in their players' defence, when gerrard retires, their current squad is the most hateful liverpool one in my time of following liverpool. they're all hate-able because they play for them and they all revert to diving, moaning and cheating - but i'd say there's no horror human beings .... oh wait i forgot skrtel... except gerrard.

henderson is a bit of a cnut too, but like skrtel and the rest of their squad, they're just too average to even hate.

there's no carragher, thompson, kuyt, aldridge, mascherano, suarez etc. horrible, vile people left when that has-been retires.

I like Henderson. Seems like a sound enough lad who gives you 100% on the pitch every week. He dived the other day, but everyone seems to do it these days and in his defence, his team were desperate for a goal at the time.

I'd probably love him if we had him, not that he'd get in our side ahead of either of our midfielders. Technically limited, but still has some quality, is a "good pro" and is a very good athlete.

I agree that there is a falling number of real "winners" and competitive characters in the squad though. Since Carragher announced his retirement I've been wondering who the next one will be and they've not found one (that they had a hope of keeping) as of yet. Those players are what got Liverpool the CL runs in 05 and 07 and the FA cup in 06.

Oh look he turned wine into water, he really is the messiah.

It never ceases to astound me how he manages to make it about himself without fail. When Liverpool win, it's because he flipped a triangle. If a player does well, it's because he put an arm around their shoulder and infused them with his philosophy. If a player gets injured on international duty, it's because the England coaching staff didn't listen to his express instruction. Then as soon as a player does something stupid or performs badly, they let him down and he'll have a word with them. How do Liverpool fans not see it?

Because simply being successful isn't enough for them. They need a champion to idolise, a demigod to worship, a man to elevate to legendary status. So when an apparent hero presents himself, they eat his poop up with a spoon. Even if all he's got to offer is poop.

I've got a few friends of lower league clubs with no interest whatsoever of the premiership bubble that hate him for this, it's a real talent of this man.

The Greeks would have eventually made some sort of fable up about him when the inevitable happens.

I'm not sure what it means; something to do with them being nicely placed in the league and this season is a success, I expect.

Congratulations Liverpool.

I'm not to proud to admit I'm lost here, wanted to get of the subway at 53rd and Park.
