Sturridge is shabite.

He couldn't finish his dinner at the World Cup (and yes I know he slotted in the first game but the rest of the tournament he was abysmal)

Being released by Aston Villa, Man City and Chelsea tell you all you need to know.

Roy is going to cave in over all this, he's now reported to be 'speaking with Liverpool' to ensure that Sterling doesn't burn out. All the lads will soon want the same treatment and each will bring a different 'note' from their manager and their mum............

If Sterling burns out it will be nobody's fault but Mr. Clever's. He's played for them a silly amount already this season, got bugger all to do with playing for England every now and then.

"Roy Hodgson and Brendan Rodgers remain at loggerheads after the England manager revealed he would still not countenance the two-day post-match recovery time demanded by Rodgers for his striker Daniel Sturridge.

Hodgson pointed out he scrapped players’ two-day recovery period at the World Cup because it was “killing” England’s training time.

“I made it very clear to all the players at the start of the week that we’d done quite a lot of two-day recoveries during our time in Brazil and we realised we were just killing ourselves in terms of the training time we have available. If every time we give two days off pre-match or post-match, we will be down to 20 days’ training before Euro 2016. For me that is unacceptable as we need to work with the players.”

Rodgers would have been told by Stevie me, Sturridge, Sterling, Henderson (teachers pet), Johnson and the Psychiatrist Steve Peters that Hodgson dropped the 2 day recovery during the World Cup. If Rodgers had an issue with it, then he should have made his feelings known to Hodgson, and not rely on the players that he said should have 2 days recovery Sturridge and Sterling.

It has only become an issue because Sturridge got injured and LFC are struggling and Mr Clever's management is coming under the spotlight. Blaming Hodgson, an ex LFC manager that failed miserably, for the Sturridge injure is a good scapegoat to feed the delusional RS.

Sturridge was never going to go against Hodgson and tell him that LFC require him to have 2 days recovery. Because he wants to be the 'big I am' for England, on the world stage, and when push comes to shove, would choose what England wanted over what LFC/Rodgers wants. Sturridge is out for number one and doesn't give a flying one for LFC but acts according to what is good for him.

Disagree, Moyes should have borrowed him off City rather than Jô.

Maybe too harsh but I basically agree. The kopites mention his two in three record but that was almost entirely down to bitey man. He'll get about ten goals this season.

That's always been my opinion as well. Nothing too obvious but just his demeanour when he got the hook in games and his manner playing second fiddle to Suarez. He loves the limelight international football gives him so wont rock the boat with England regardless of Rodgers and his training soundbites...lets face it he knows the RS are reliant on him especially with the kip of Balotelli.

The Kopites did the same with Balotelli claiming a great goal scoring record. But....

"The statistics look impressive at first glance but seldom tell the whole story. Balotelli scored 30 goals in 54 matches in all competitions for AC Milan, and those stats look much better when compared to the 28 goals he scored in 86 matches for Inter and 30 goals in 80 appearances with Manchester City.

The manner of how he scored those 30 goals for AC Milan must be taken to account, with a good amount of them came from dead-ball situations.

Ten of those goals were scored from the penalty spot and five of them came from direct free-kicks. To go into more depth, six of those penalties accounted for his 12 Serie A goals in the 2012-13 season and four of those free-kicks were part of his 14-goal haul in the last year’s campaign.

If you were take away those goals from dead-ball situations, Balotelli scored only 15 goals from open-play in 54 games. Those statistics do not look as impressive for someone who played as the main centre-forward for one of Italy’s biggest clubs".

disagree with that tbh. sewers and him hated passing it to eachother, they seemed to score goals in spite of eachother for the most part. sturridge will score plenty of goals as their main striker

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been dealt another injury blow after Lazar Markovic suffered a suspected muscle tear during Serbia’s 1-1 draw with Armenia on Saturday.

Markovic was largely ineffective in the 25 minutes he lasted in his country’s European Championship qualifier and could now be out for a number of weeks, adding to the number of Liverpool players recently injured on international duty.

Is that the 20 million pound man who looks like he is worth every penny of it?

Merseyside teams having nightmares with injuries so far this season.
