ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I had the great misfortune to have to listen to the entire commentary of the final round of the Women's Premier League - you just knew the RS would spawn it - after their fluke goal against Birmingham (which the ref admitted he shouldn't have allowed to stand) and the last minute equaliser last week to keep them in the race - Chelsea managed to throw it away, needing a draw (2-1 at City - against 10 City women at the end after Chelsea lost their keeper early with an injury). Birmingham managed to waste their chance to win it by drawing 2-2 (and missing a penalty) - meanwhile The RS Women won 3-0 (2-0 was required with Chelsea losing by one) - ex Everton Ladies contributing heavily to their triumph with 2 goals (and, to form, the obligatory penalty) and, at City, another 2 goals from Duggan and Scott.

Am I right in thinking a number of our girls were enticed to the dark side a while back?

That's always been my opinion as well. Nothing too obvious but just his demeanour when he got the hook in games and his manner playing second fiddle to Suarez. He loves the limelight international football gives him so wont rock the boat with England regardless of Rodgers and his training soundbites...lets face it he knows the RS are reliant on him especially with the kip of Balotelli.
Sturridge is a big time Charlie, it just hasn't played out yet. He could hardly have kicked off about being 2nd fiddle to a rare talent like Suarez, but with Balotelli it's something different. Expect to read moans such as ' he keeps occupying my space' etc. Massive weight on his shoulders atm as the cult & media mythologise his return as the immediate cure for all their ills.

And once Berahino moves up to the England senior side.........oh Lordy

They don't. I am just trying to redress the balance.

Men don't play netball and are not allowed to join the WI but men never play the "sexist" card about it.

When the shoe is on the other foot however.....

Sturridge is B-Rod's best signing (indeed probably the best thing he has done whilst being manager over there) though - he will never drop him. If Balotelli had scored loads whilst he was injured then there might have been a problem, but of course he hasnt.

As for Sturridge himself, personally I think he is by far their best forward and they are a much worse side without him in it. Whether he is world class is another matter, but if we had bought him for £12 million nearly two years ago we would all be going on about how fantastic he is.

Rodgers didn't even want Sturridge though.

Not sure what thats got to do with anything like...

Sorry, it was meant to illustrate that managers might end up claiming credit for things that they didnt want to happen. What else can Rodgers boast about over there? "I took a side that Rafael and KKK bought and almost won the league with it?"

LOLZ

There is an article in the Echo where they are claiming that they have 580 million fans! Pa ha ha ha ha, no wonder they can't get tickets, PAH HA HA HA HA HA.
