That was utter rubbish. The shape was all wrong as it has been on far too many occasions this season. Kiev are a decent side, especially at home but even considering that it was an atrocious defensive display. How we can play 2 defensive midfielders and still have no defensive cover baffles me. God knows what Alcaraz and Jags were doing, although both improved dramatically when Alcaraz went to play right wing. Let's just consider that statement for a minute......

I can see the headlines now: Escape From Alcaraz.

But to be fair, I am proud of what Everton have achieved in Europe this season. We were beaten by the better team on the night, despite the cynical nature of some of their play. In a parallel universe, where Ross scored two instead of hitting the woodwork, things would have been very different. And the referee certainly wasn't on our side. It's always tough having the Away leg as the second fixture when the ref often becomes the twelfth man. We lost it in defence, but nevertheless showed the passion that should always come with the shirt. Oh yes, and a spirit of honesty too, which some of the foreign sides just don't get. Barkley showed distinct signs of promise, and Jags was a rock: an Everton icon beyond all doubt, who knows what the passion is all about. Romelu Lukaku has come of age in the last few games, imo. He was my motm. He could be a very potent side next season if he continues to push on. But we need some quality up front to pair him with: surely Yarmolenku should be on our hit list?

well, we wont be back in Europe for a while...and we are not very good at the COC or FA Cup...and we ain't winning the PL anytime soon...hard to see where a trophy's coming from.
My bigger current concern is how to recover for QPR....we might be on a slippery slope here.

Which is unbelievable because after the way we played last season, it was only a matter of time before we lifted a pot.

Managerial change. In any other walk of life or indeed any of our peers in the league, his performance, with the tools at his disposal has been calamitous.Sack him, get to 40 points and get a top manager in close season.

Does anybody really think that kenwright would sack anyone
Martinez could put a Bala on ,get a gun, go over to bills house ,rob his safe and shoot the place before getting caught locked up and bill would be in tears and bail him out

Well lads, its time to get behind our team and secure our safety now. Lets get the points to finish as high as possible and then we can talk about whether this spanish guy should be shown the down.

Lets get behind the lads... and the manager for the next 9 games. Only then should be discuss the possibility of him leaving. No point in talking about it now, it isn't going to happen.
I can see your perspective but not for me. This clown will take us down if we persist. We need to force the issue if the board won't.
Sacked in the morning chant from now on.

Very very poor performance, was like a Moyes away defending. If we defended like a prem team we'd of won that. If only Atsu had booted the ball out at 1-1. Tbh we lost the game in the 1st leg, missed 2-3 sitters should have been at least 3-1 before we went there.

Learning curve or a waste of 11 years?

Positives from the game are:
Lukaku can score class goals not just one on ones, Barkley can be a great player who actually looks arsed (on confidence at least)

We're not gonna see Atsu and Alcaraz next season. Hopefully.

Er...I'm out, bad times
