Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

I live in Virginia. We are nervous. As Abelard points out, a loss will likely mean huge gerrymandering, taking blue rural dots (Harrisonburg, Staunton, Charlottesville) and dividing up their districts so that they share lots of votes with outlying county red-voters, thereby sealing the fate of VA until 2032.

What do you think will happen tonight?

Trump is hugely unpopular in VA. If the Dems still can't win, that's the entire 2018 strategy out the window. Not like they'd ever change though...

Tough to say. I suspect that the Dems will squeak by on Northern Virginia/DC "burbs" votes + Richmond + C'Ville. But I live out in the country and I'm one of probably 30 democrats in my whole district. It's a big rural state and some cities are solidly Red, such as Lynchburg (home of the "educational institution" called Liberty, founded by Jerry Falwell). VA has flip-flopped parties in gubernatorial election over the last few cycles. Hope that doesn't stay the case (we have a Dem in charge now).

They'll be holding the Fairfax vote as long as they can. If it hasn't shown by midnight, it's not a good sign for the blue team.

Meanwhile, all hail Dave Burge. The American right's most dangerous tweet machine. On the job.

I have no verified knowledge, but would assume that Norfolk/Newport News is a pretty much redshifted area as well, with all that military. Pretty much like it is here in Jax. Is it? Lots of folks over there, too.

I should also point out that today was probably the first really awful weather day. Yesterday was sunny and 70F; today was 40F and rainy and cold (and these conditions prevailed all day)--these weather conditions are traditional enemies of Democratic voters.

Yeah, you are correct; I seem to recall reading that that's a pretty red area.

Apparently Norfolk region swung quite heavily blue this evening.
