Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

well, good night for the Dems. you know it when the National Review writes articles like these

"This morning I wrote, “if Ed Gillespie loses, some Republicans will want to blame Trump, and he’ll deserve a share of the blame, but it’s a pretty limited share.” That assertion may need revision, with not merely Gillespie and the rest of the statewide ticket losing, but the Republicans in the Virginia state legislature getting demolished. At this hour, Republicans are in danger of losing control of the House of Delegates, where they entered Election Day with a seemingly comfortable 17-seat margin."

It's absolutely scandalous for the Dems to only start taking state-level politics seriously now, but I guess you have to start somewhere. Much, much more political change than the vast majority of liberals realize is affected at this level.

And as always, local elections are of limited value in projecting national trends. It's very dangerous to be complacent based on this, or to anticipate patterns.

I am pleased that this will forestall the state's oblivion by gerrymandering (I doubt the Dems have the power to do this in Virginia, like they do in Maryland, and which anyone who cares about living in fair country should oppose in all cases).

Wish every state would follow California's lead with gerrymandering. Made a lot of safe seats purple...as it should be.

Profoundly-strange article in the Groan today, it reads more like an Onion piece:

The reader comments are worth a read (sort via most-recommended):

The opinion pieces are generally* god-awful whiny narcissistic bulls1t. The Guardian is the one who published the opinion piece about the woman who tearfully walked out on a talk by Lionel Shriver (fiction author) because Lionel Shriver, who is white, had written about non-white characters in one of her novels.

[*edit: not all of them; for example Gary Younge is superb.]

Literally heard on the Rush Limbaugh show just now. Democrat won VA Gubernatorial election because of illegal immigrants and criminals voting.

This is the most listened to radio program in America.

The Daily Mail is the most popular UK newspaper website and The Sun the most popular actual newspaper. In Germany it's Das Bild (akin to The Sun).

Unfortunately the quality alternatives don't help themselves with god-awful whiny narcissistic bollocks.

The debate will thus remain polarised for a while yet.
