A good read, a sensible approach, but it's too big and like trying to boil the ocean. The abolition of prisons etc etc sounds great until they freely admit that some of the crimes in prison are horrendous, and therefore if abolished would put the same people who are committing crimes in prison back on the streets. It's a recipe for chaos. There are some sensible suggestions in there that absolutely deserve an airing and action, but I fear they won't because taken as a whole it smacks of victimhood. The schooling issues and suggestions should be examined and the bail system. It would also help if there was at least some admission that perhaps some black felons only have themselves to blame. Every country of whatever colour has them....

Maybe you will go and read up on Jim Crow laws, civil rights, Black Lives Matters, read up on the disproportionate number of black prisoners in US prisons, read about how private prisons provide free labor that is predominintaly black, how the legal slavery was replaced by legal mass incarceration, read about how black kids have far less opportunity than white kids no matter how smart they are, read up on how schools in southern states are beginning to segregate again, read about efforts to restrict the black vote by gerrymandering districts and imposing strict laws that alienate the poorest voters, read about the likes of Richard Spencer and how main stream politics is beginning to embrace white supremacy.

If, for one second, you look at this as something other than disrespecting an anthem and ask yourself why it's happening, then theres progress.

This is ridiculous, shipping goods is going to be far more important to getting aid to Puerto Rico and USVI than it was to either Taxas or Florida when roads/pipelines could be used yet only in the latter two was it waived.

They should declare independence, repudiate the debt, and turn to China for investment.

The only benefit they've ever had from American conquest is being allowed to leave more easily.

I agree with some of your criticisms but BLM and these kneeling protests were always about highlighting the issue of inequality and opening the door to discussing ways to solve it and getting politicians to support changes in approach - I doubt even BLM expects all of their suggestions to be implemented in full but you have to first acknowledge there is a problem to be solved before you can figure out the best way to fix it.

If even 10% of the NFL audience look into the issue and then bear that it mind when next voting real progress could be made at local, state and federal levels for the benefit of all Americans.
